2 EASTERN & ORIENTAL HOTEL. In this project, my team was assigned to rebrand the identity of Eastern & Oriental Hotel. The initial concept of the new approach was designed based on a new outlook that reflects the heritage look of old English styling that upholds the classic motifs implemented in the older eras.

As this is a rather corporate themed website, we decided to approach the new design to represent a bold, exclusive and firm styling. Through this new outlook, audiences of the company will be associated with the mentioned criteria therefore giving both the company and their conglomerates a higher sense of status.

Since it was established by the Sarkies Brothers in 1885, E&O Hotel has charmed travellers from near and far, creating a reputation to match its sister hotels The Raffles, Singapore and The Strand, Rangoon - also founded by the Sarkies. Lone Pine Hotel is the oldest beach hotel, established in 1948, along Penang Island s famed tourist strip of Batu Ferringhi. There are ongoing efforts to capitalise on the hotel management expertise currently available, and extend this service to enable the Group to eventually manage a portfolio of hotels and resorts within Malaysia as well as around the region. 14 BITES BY SHIMBO K For this project, I was appointed to create an identity for a new dessert shop located in Malaysia. This dessert booth serves desserts that are cultivated from Japan and Europe. Since the client had a vision of creating a mascot for their brand, I decided to use the icon of the fortune cat, also widely known as the Maneki Neko in Japan as the brand s icon. By implementing color and themes from the European culture onto the character, the mascot then becomes a representation of the products from the brand. The brand also wants to have a retro yet vibrant outlook to its identity, therefore, the usuage of pop-culture text and colors are also implemented on the counter decorations as well as price boards.

18 SWEET DISCOVERY The graphic solution shown is a visualization of a piece that relfects an exploration of keywords. The word that was presented to me was the word, candy. Since the project had the relation to exploring, using the metaphor of how ants discover a sweet source naturally fits in.

20 GRUMPS RESTAURANT For this project, I was approached by an Italian Restaurant in Malaysia to rebrand their company s identity. The brief given was for me to come up with an icon or a symbol that could reflect what the company serves in both their dishes as well as the company s promise to their patrons. As the restaurant wishes to convey the message that their delicacies are made only with freshest ingredients, the idea was to design the icon based on these factors. As this project is still under refinement stages, these are the directions picked by the client.

22 IRISH BEER For this identity, my team worked on the design of the logo of a new Irish beer brand. The logo incorportes celtic elements that projects the beer s roots with its own personality.

24 GERMAN MARQUE This company was looking for a brand new logo for their newly established corporation. The company deals with the automotive industry and their major audiences we people who owns luxurious automobiles. As the name of the company is German Marque, they requested for the logo to involve some slight elements of German accents. The initial drafts can be seen to have the three primary colors of the German flag but was later on discarded as it reflected too much of the German country. A new approach was taken where the company now has a symbol that reflected the infinity logo that both reflects a good vibe for the company s flow of business as well as a rounded figure that reflects the automotive industry that deals with motion.

29 WELL PLANNER A new financial consultancy looking to craft an identity to reflect their scope of business and services. The logo began by relating the company s name to water which in chinese refers to wealth. This automatically relates the services provided by the company. The logo uses the plane perspective of a well. The top view of the well is a circle. The idea of using the spiral to represent the water within the well is to bring out the idea of a never-ending well. This reflects how the assets of your clients would only generate more and never run dry.

31 HANTZ FARMS DETROIT The objective of this project was to help Hantz Farms Detroit create a new identity. The company s objective was to bring urban farming into Detroit as a means of creating a holistic lifestyle for the community and at the same time revive Detroit from desolation.the main concept for this identity was to utilize a simple pattern that is humanistic and flexible for the company. By having the pattern, the form can imply different elements that reflects the company s nature of business and also easily applicable for future applications.

34 QUAYSIDE. For this project, the client approached my team with a brief that requested us to create a publication piece for the purpose of their property s collateral materials. Through understanding, the subject that the client is dealing with are residential properties. The idea that we proposed to the client was to create a publication design that reflected their target audience s sense of ease and status with the focus of minimalism.

Hailing from a style that consists of many daring attempts, I chose to design the book based on how the designer perceives design, his very own principles. The book is designed with patterns and gestures seen from a human s hand and palm. These patterns are defined as the principles that are embedded within the designer s life. The book though designed with my own personal styling with certain elements that emulates the designer s trademark qualities.

45 EXPERIMENTAL TYPOGRAPHY The objective of this project was to define experimental typography and how designers around the world perceived it through a manifesto by Peter Bilak. The approach was to create a set of geometrical typeface that implies construction blueprint plans. Reason was because I had the idea that the library of alphabets and glyphs, though simple in its form, can be manipulated to produce a work of art by itself without the presence of images.

48 WCG2011 MALAYSIA In this project, I was appointed as the head of art direction. Since this annual event features the world of cyber games, the approach of the design is based on the gaming perspective. The implementation of grid lines and a cosmic outlook naturally fits into the theme of the event. Besides that, the colors that were utilized were dark and vibrant at the same time to help bring the characters to life in a 2D perspective.

The main objective of the project was to create a new experience for owners of the Volkswagen brand. As this was a group project, my team decided to create a whole new driving experience that involved the lifestyle habits of our targeted audiences. By incorporating new interfaces and accessories that comes equipped with a portal that eases also helps manage the audience s lifestyle, it was definitely a new ad fresh experience of sitting behind the wheel.
