3 176 Business Business encompasses a full range of accredited degrees and certificates that are considered viable for a career in today s service, industrial, or organizational settings. Offerings are designed to meet the needs of entry level employees, individuals seeking career redirection, those who wish to supplement other training or education with a business background, or for employer training and development. Selected programs are available in online as well as traditional formats. The Business degree programs are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

4 Accounting This program prepares students for career positions in the field of accounting. The study of accounting principles, practices and procedures provides students with the necessary training for entry into the various areas of accounting, as well as a wide range of related careers. Employment of accountants and auditors is expected to grow faster than average for all occupations through the year An increase in the number of businesses, changing financial laws and regulations and increased scrutiny of company finances will drive growth. 6 CPA Qualifying Certificate The CPA Qualifying credit Program provides bachelor s degree-holding recipients the required coursework to sit for the Ohio CPA exam. There are 150 semester credit hours required to sit for the Ohio CPA examination, from which candidates must earn appropriate credits. Students will identify, analyze, and develop possible solutions for organizational issues utilizing appropriate business and technological tools. 11 184 Entrepreneurial Program CREDITS REQUIRED: 66 The Owens Business programs are a member of National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship Technical Major has been developed for those students who desire to own their own, or work within the small business environment. Our E-Ship program has been structured to include coursework that will develop the student s foundational business knowledge so that they can successfully compete in the small business environment. The program also concentrates on the core business functions by way of small business examples, applications and opportunities. Once the student has completed the E-Ship programs core course work, they will then as a final requirement, create their own all important business plan (and defend this plan) in the programs capstone course.
