The bar is daily opened from 08:00 am until 01:00 am. There is a big variety of guests in the bar, both business guests and leisure. The F&B department consists of the Silk Road restaurant, banqueting facilities and the Silk Bar. A traineeship in this department means that you will rotate between these outlets. This traineeship gives you the opportunity to gain experience within the entire department! - Welcoming guests. - Taking orders. - Supply and serving orders. - Preparation of the banqueting halls. - Cleaning up of the banqueting rooms. - Preparing bills. - Carrying out preparation work. - Operating at events, receptions and dinners. - Based on performance, there will be more responsibilities. 7 Accounting Trainee (practical) We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Accounting Trainee for our Accounting Team in Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre. Our Accounting Team consists of Accounts Payable (for our three hotels in the Netherlands), Accounts Receivable and Income Audit. As an Accounting Trainee you will gain experience within all three sub-departments. A short description of your responsibilities: - Checking of credit cards / bills. - Checking the invoices regarding commission. - Helping Accounts Payable during the closing of the month, quarter, year. Depending on your interests, motivation and talent, you will be involved in other senior tasks and projects. - Attending an MBO or HBO Hotel School or a relevant Economic education. - Hospitable, enthusiastic, flexible, stress resistant and representative. - Independent, accurate and a proactive work attitude. - Sufficient knowledge of the Dutch and English language is mandatory. Kitchen Trainee/Apprentice (Practical) We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic apprentice for our hotel kitchen to support out team and to develop their cooking skills further. The Kitchen prepares dishes for our a la carte restaurant Silk Road, our banqueting department, Silk bar and Room Service. We also have our own pastry department. Job Description: - Making of high quality culinary dishes. - Preparation activities such as washing, cutting and pre-cooking of the required raw materials. - Preparing plates through a la minute cooking techniques. - Portioning and garnishing of dishes and controlling the presentation according to recipes. - Regularly checking the freshness of ingredients based on color and taste. - Making simple meals for the personnel. - Contributing to the continuous improvement of menus. - Follows an education for chef (BBL), preferably from a level 2, 2nd year or level 3. - Eager to learn and motivated. - Enthusiastic. - Sufficient knowledge of the Dutch and English language. - Able to work in teams. - Is flexible with working hours. - Is able to operate under pressure. - Is confident. - Hardworking. 7

8 Descriptions management traineeships Mövenpick Amsterdam Manager on Duty Trainee (Management) Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam is looking for an enthusiastic, independent and guest orientated Manager on Duty Trainee. As MOD Trainee you are part of the Rooms Division departments with the main focus on the operations of the Front Desk and Guest Relations but you will also be responsible for handling of guest complaints and guest requests of the F&B outlets. To get sufficient knowledge of all departments in the hotel you will follow an intensive cross training program at the beginning of your internship. Eventually you will be able to run your own MOD shifts on a daily basis. - Solve different kinds of problems in departments. - Communicate with guests. - Handle and solve guest complaints and guest requests. - Compile the daily MOD report. - Doing control rounds through the hotel. - Inspect hotel rooms. - Central role within emergency situations. 9 F&B Management trainee (Management) For the F&B department of the Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre are we looking for an enthusiastic Food and Beverage Management trainee who has a passion for the F&B department! As F&B management trainee you will work 2 or 3 days on the floor in our F&B outlets and you will work as shift leader. The other 2 to 3 days you will take the responsibility for some administration work and projects which need to be done within the F&B department. - Taking reservations - Updating the menu and wine list of the Silk Road restaurant and Silk Bar. - Attendant the weekly function sheet meeting. - Keeping track of the financial overview of the F&B. - Prepare the closure of the month. - Checking VEOS for guests satisfaction. - Developing a terrace concept. - VEOS, which is our system looking for the traces of the guests satisfaction. - Productivity of the F&B department. - Promotion and Marketing of our F&B in Amsterdam itself. Human Resources Trainee (Management) Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Human Resources Trainee. - Selecting and hiring activities, such as creating function profiles, opening and closing positions on websites and informing candidates about their application procedure. - Responsible for selecting and hiring of trainees, including job interviews and contact with schools. - Responsible for organizing the staff events (Christmas drink, Sinterklaas and the staff party). - Assisting with the organization of school visits. - Administrative tasks with regards to new- and leaving employees. - Assisting with daily tasks of the HR department. - Updating and completing personal files. - Available for questions with regards to labor law, Dutch labor agreement etc. - Welcoming new employees including paperwork and tour through the hotel. - Administrative tasks with regards to training and development of employees. - Updating the birthday calendar and preparing birthday cards and gifts. 9

Reservations Trainee (Management) Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated reservations trainee! The Reservations Department is part of the Sales and Marketing Department. As trainee you will be supporting our reservations sub-department. Job - Booking of individual rooms and handling the reservations process - Handling reservation requests in our booking system (Protel). - Daily arrival check including rate code checks, market segment and notes. - Finalizing options and taking care of changes and cancellations in reservations. - Gaining knowledge and experience with regards to Commission handing. - Handling and follow up on all guests requests including giving information and handling complaints. - Following a MBO or HBO Hotel school or tourism education. - Hospitable, enthusiastic, flexible and stress resistant. - Motivated and proactive work attitude. Facility Trainee (Management) For our Rooms Division team we are looking for an enthusiastic, independent Facility Management trainee who will be the assistant of the Rooms Division manager. One of the departments which belongs to the Rooms Division Department is Housekeeping. Only the management of this department is done by the Mövenpick hotel, the rest is outsourced. - Attending daily Management Meetings in absence of the Rooms Division Manager. - Control of diverse cleaning / facility companies who are contracted by the Mövenpick hotel Amsterdam. - Handling of the invoices of those outsourced companies. - Control and making reports of the room- and public areas checks. - Co-operation with the Manager on Duty, and if there are points in the MOD report regarding housekeeping, you will report this to the housekeeping department. - Co-operation with the Technical department. During your room checks, you need to report any technical failures in the room. - Responsible for all VIP guests to give them an unforgettable stay. 10

The responsibilities of this internship include: Receiving and confirming all incoming orders from suppliers Storekeeping according to the FIFO method Coordination of all supplies to all departments of the hotel Stock control Helping the Manager with the closing of the month, quarter, year Administrative work regarding billing Preparation of Cost control reports Additional projects and responsibilities may be given based on performance initiative and in cooperation with the Purchase Manager Profile You follow a hotel school or similar education. You speak Dutch and have sufficient knowledge of the English language and you have a pro-active and motivated attitude to work in a team and to develop further. 12

13 Descriptions practical traineeships Mövenpick Voorburg and s-hertogenbosch Front Office Trainee (practical) The Front Office team consists of the reception desk and reservations. During your traineeship you will learn different aspects of the Rooms Division department. Job Description - Welcoming guest for the hotel, restaurant or banqueting rooms, checking guests in and out of the hotel, answering questions from guests (concierge tasks) and transferring guest to the correct department in person or on the phone. - Working with the reservation system Protel. - Performing administrative tasks including sending invoices to companies and controlling credit card payments. - Taking care of our guests and helping to fulfil wishes. - Warrant for guest safety. - Making room reservations, if the reservations department is closed. At the end of the traineeship, you will be a fully trained receptionist and you are able to handle all responsibilities related to this function. Additional projects and responsibilities may be given to the trainee based on performance. Profile We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated FO Trainee who is: - Following a tourism or hotel management education and needs to follow an internship. - Preferably has experience working in a hotel. - Good knowledge of Microsoft and interested in learning a new reservation system. - Masters the Dutch and English language verbal and writing and preferably speaks German. - Willing to Learn, Professional, accurate, social and flexible. - Fulltime available during the period of the internship. Food & Beverage Trainee (practical) The F&B department consists of the restaurant, bar and banqueting facilities. A traineeship in this department means that you will rotate between these outlets. Job Description - Welcoming guests, taking orders and serving in the restaurant, the bar and with meetings and events in the banqueting department. - Preparing bills. - Preparation and cleaning up the banqueting rooms. - Serving guest, who are part of a banqueting event or reception. - Carrying out preparation work and maintaining a clean restaurant. - Based on performance, there will be more responsibilities. Profile We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated F&B Trainee who is: - Following a tourism or hotel (management) education, either MBO or HBO, and needs to follow an internship. - Preferably is in his third or fourth year. - Preferably has experience working in a hotel. - Independent, team player, professional, service minded, social, flexible and willing to learn. - Masters the Dutch and English language verbally and preferably speaks German. - The working hours are between 06:00 and 23:00. We have morning and evening shifts. 13

Job Description - Carrying out preparation work and cleaning of the kitchen areas, kitchen materials and machines. - Preparing ingredients and dishes. - Presentation of dishes. - Storing of delivered products and ingredients. - Proactively looking for ways to work efficiently, to control costs and to increase the quality.
