2 Welcome to the Brisbane Careers & Employment Expo insight for 2014 The Brisbane Careers & Employment Expo is Queensland s largest 2-day jobs, careers, employment, skills, education and training event. In 2013, the event continued the reputation of this event as the premier, largest and leading free careers event in Queensland. With over 120+ exhibitors over 5000sqm, the event attracts over 23,000 visitors from across Brisbane and Regional Queensland. Why exhibit at the Brisbane Careers & Employment Expo? All data presented is compiled from visitor / exhibitor surveys and where applicable from venue overhead laser / entry exit counting with adjusted weighting due to traffic movement considerations over a 2 day period data presented, does not include 000 s of students attending the Student day (Friday) The event is FREE ENTRY and in 2014 will be currently open from Friday 23rd May from 9am to 4pm and on Saturday 24th May from 10am to 4pm. In 2013, the event included every University, Qld TAFE and some of the state s major employers and industries in Mining and Resources, Construction, Aviation, Retail and Energy sectors. Visitors had the ability to engage with a great mix of exhibitors which was represented as 40% industry / employers and 60% educators / trainers. The event over the years has been a great opportunity for us to talk to potential candidates face to face. Did the event achieve these objectives? The number of attendees was great, seemed much busier than last year. Saturday s seminars despite not having enough room to accomodate everyone, we had a large attendance with a lot of questions from these.
