8 Parametric roll resonance Parametric roll resonance is caused by head or stern longitudinal waves. The container ships waterline considers changes due to the specific hull shape.
9 Parametric roll resonance The most rapid increase of parametric roll can be observed when: The encounter frequency of the aproaching waves must be approximately two times the natural roll frequency of the ship. The length of the waves should be equal to the length of the ship. Ships should have the correct hull shape.
