2 Invitation to all young fencers ESPOO 29TH JUNIOR GP EPÉE COMPETITION INDIVIDUAL We have the pleasure of inviting You to the 29th international Espoo GP epée individual competition in Espoo, Finland. The competition will take place at Leppävaara Urheiluhalli, Veräjäpellonkatu 6, Espoo. The competition is for all international young epée fencers, ages 7-20 years and on all level. Categories and program individual epée for boys and girls: Friday 9th of March F-series: ages 7-9 years boys and girls will fence together, the mini blade (0, 2) is obligatory. Born in last entry / start Notice : If there are less than 4 fencers in this series it will be canceled. The fencers will continue to the E-series without the new enter. The changes in the series will be posted via on Wednesday the 7th of March. E-series: ages years boys and girls fence together, the mini blade (0, 2) is obligatory. Born last entry / start Saturday 10th of March D-series: ages years boys and girls fence together. Born in last entry (the sport hall opens at 8.00) / 9.00 start C-series: ages years boys and girls fence in their own series. Born in last entry / start Sunday 11th of March B-series: ages years boys and girls fence in their own series. Born in last entry (the sport hall opens at 8.00) / 9.00 start A-series: ages years boys and girls fence in their own series. Born in last entry / start The final of the best two boys and two girls start at on Sunday 11th of March. The awards ceremony for series from D to F will take place on Saturday after the Dseries has ended. The awards ceremony for all other (A-C) series will take place after the final on Sunday. The organizers reserve the right to make changes if necessary. Any changes in the schedule will be posted via after Tuesday the 6th of March.

3 Formula The competition will start from the F-series in which 1-3 of the best fencers will continue to the E-series. >From the E-series 3-10 of the best fencers will continue to the D-series >From the D-series 8-12 of the best fencers will continue to the C-series. >From the C-series of the best fencers will continue to the B-series. >From the B-series of the best fences continue to the A-series (open main series). After the C-series all the boys and girls will fence in their own series. Competition format One round of pool and direct elimination in each serie. Entry fee On the Friday in series F and E 12 EUR for each fencer shall be paid at the moment of registration. On the Saturday and the Sunday in series D, C, B and A 17 EUR for each fencer shall be paid at the moment of registration Rules The general rules are set by FIE and Finnish Fencing Federation applies. FIE-blades are not obligatory and there is no need for an FIE license. However, we do require that all fencers are registered with their national fencing federation. NOTE: >In F- and E series jacket and trousers fencing suit, plastron 800 N is obligatory, mask normal, the mini blade (0, 2) is obligatory. >In C- and D-series jacket and trousers fencing suit, plastron 800 N is obligatory, mask normal, blade normal. >In B-series jacket and trousers fencing suit, plastron 800 N is obligatory, mask 1600 N, blade normal. >In A-series jacket, trousers and plastron 800 N are obligatory, mask 1600 N, blade normal. Referees Each club having more than four fencers must provide at least one referee. More than seven fencers must provide at last two referees. Penalty payment for the lack of a referee in the series is 100 euros which will be paid before the start.
