1 Role Specification Senior Trainer IT and Multi Media Systems Reporting to: Location: Learning and Development Manager Bristol At CLIC Sargent we want to see: A world where all children and young people with cancer live life to the full. We expect that all those who work with and for us to ensure that the needs of children, young people with cancer and their families are at the heart of everything CLIC Sargent does. MAIN PURPOSE The Senior Trainer - Multi media and IT will work with the wider Development and Learning Team to support the skills needs of CLIC Sargent staff. To lead on the planning, design and delivery of appropriate Multi media and IT and applications related training across CLIC Sargent and so work to develop organisational capacity to complement its business processes. To provide frequent, high quality cost efficient and effective learning solutions and activities including frequent delivery of structured training and skills programmes across the UK Key Areas Of Responsibility Identification of learning needs Review the Multi media and IT training needs of all CLIC Sargent staff by: o appropriating information about individual Multi media and IT learning needs as identified through the CLIC Sargent Appraisal system, or by personal and line manager requests o liaising with the MIS department and other functional teams (e.g. the CARE policy groups) to determine the type and scope of applications training required o consulting with managers about Multi media and IT learning solutions required to support organisation-wide projects and initiatives Multi media and IT Training Design and Delivery Provide or procure cost efficient and effective learning and skills based solutions Design courses with clear and appropriate learning objectives, along with accompanying course materials, handouts and exercises Plan and prepare learning environments and resources for training events (including setting up Multi media and IT equipment) and deliver face-to-face training or training via online tools (e.g. MS Lync) where necessary Be responsible for developing additional training resources and documentation to support specific Multi media and IT applications e.g. help-sheets and user manuals in consultation with MIS developers and Multi media and IT support Be responsible for reviewing, updating and delivering training in the range of functions related to the CARE database at a foundation and intermediate level to Fundraising and Services staff; also more advanced training to the CARE Super Users or Administrators and others across the organisation

2 Be responsible for planning, reviewing, updating and delivering training in other applications and web based systems, e.g. finance, document management, facilities management; also refreshers and updates when systems are upgraded across the organisation Training Evaluation and Value for Money Undertake the provision of; evaluation of; take-up of and effectiveness of learning solutions ensuring cost efficient and effective solutions that demonstrate value for money. Be responsible for coordinating the collection of evaluation data with respect to the delivery of Multi media and IT training and of the use of accompanying resources, and communicating the conclusions to relevant parties across the organisation Maintain a record of learning outcomes to demonstrate the effectiveness of the training Design appropriate formats for training records and ensure their accurate maintenance Personal Development Maintain knowledge of developments within the software industry keeping up to date with relevant systems, software and training technology to ensure CLIC Sargent staff benefit from the most effective training Other Contribute to the review, specification, procurement and implementation of IM&T systems including within People and Learning Participate in project teams for charity-wide projects Advise L&D Manager and wider P&L Management Team of people and service implications and issues arising from the planned implementation of MIS and Multi media and IT software and systems Provide support for broader P&L projects and initiatives Take an active part in L&D planning and team projects and activities Take an active part in the process of procuring new Multi media and IT systems that require staff training Take a lead in the review, development and implementation of existing and new L&D information and learning systems Promote good practice with Multi media and IT (eg data literacy, data security and data protection) Support the organisation in the promotion of professional standards in Multi media and IT Carry out course coordination tasks alongside the L&D Coordinators as appropriate and required Participate in the day to day management and development of the e-learning platform and, where required, e-learning content WORKING RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS Liaise with the L&D Coordinators so that the the coordination of events is undertaken efficiently and effectively Liaise with relevant stakeholder groups in relation to areas of responsibility, e.g. the CARE Fundraising Policy Groups, to maintain an awareness of issues and needs Liaise with the MIS department in relation to technical matters and learning needs associated with the development of applications and databases Liaise with the MIS and IT department regarding applications support requests and design of Multi media and IT training documentation Maintain positive and supportive relationships with P&L Managers and staff in the wider P&L Directorate

3 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES To understand and promote CLIC Sargent People Policies in all activities To be responsible for personal health and safety and that of colleagues in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and CLIC Sargent policies and procedures. To be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. To model the values of the charity. Any other duties as directed by or agreed with line manager. The responsibilities of this post and reporting structure will be periodically reviewed.

4 Person Specification Qualification in training design and delivery Educated to degree level or equivalent Member of The Institute of IT Training (D) Substantial training delivery: both on-line and face-to-face Provision of bespoke applications training in a workplace setting Developing training documentation and resources Creating video tutorials and managing multimedia content Awareness of data protections and data security needs E-Marketing software Database reporting systems Experience of Project Management Experience in System Life Cycle Experience in User Interface Design E-Learning Development SharePoint Document Management System Communicates effectively with all levels of staff in person, on the phone and electronically Ability to tailor training delivery style to different audiences Effective team-working and collaboration Creates user-friendly learning resources e.g. training manuals and guidance documents Learns new systems quickly and independently Self motivated and able to work independently Ability to engage with staff and managers Ability to solve problems Ability to analyse data Demonstrable up-to-date knowledge of learning technologies Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows platforms, Adobe Design Suite, Web Design principles and Relational Database design Knowledge of Database Query Tools Knowledge of e-marketing tools Knowledge of Virtual Learning Environments (eg Moodle) Using and training Customer Relationship Management and database systems Knowledge of the Advanced CARENG system Knowledge of social media and analytics Valid UK Driving Licence Willing to travel to CLIC Sargent offices and workplaces across the UK Approach Putting customers first Delivering a people oriented learning and administrative service that exceeds customer expectations Committed to delivering quality work and meeting deadlines making effective use of available resources Able to quickly build credibility with a range of CLIC Sargent stakeholders
