WATSON TV STICK INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Welcome to the Watson service. Congratulations on making a great choice! Use the Watson service to watch TV, rent movies and subscribe to Pay TV channels according to your taste, whenever you want. With Watson, you can watch all TV programmes offered on basic channels live or on demand, and you can also save unlimited amounts of programmes for six months. In other words, you have a huge store of programmes from which to watch your favourite programmes at a time that suits you. More content is available from Pay TV channels you can subscribe to and as hundreds of movies you can rent. What's best, in addition to using the Watson service through your TV, you can also enjoy the service on mobile devices and computers. 2

1 WATSON SERVICE SET-UP You can order your user ID at You will receive and be able to use the ID immediately and start watching right away. Watson can be used on various terminal devices (computer, TV, smart phone or tablet) through your wireless home network. We recommend a 10 Mbps broadband connection for using the Watson service and a 24 Mbps broadband connection for watching HD channels. Watson functions on mobile devices running the Android and ios operating systems. A Watson application which enables mobile use is available from Google Play or App Store. 1.1 TV Stick setup 1. Insert the supplied batteries into the remote. The battery compartment door is at the back of the remote. The markings on the compartment show which way the batteries should be installed. 2. Connect the Watson Stick to the HDMI port of the TV set (use the HDMI extension cable if necessary). Use the supplied AV cable if the TV set has no HDMI port. 3. Attach the Micro USB cable to the Watson Stick. 4. Connect the other end of the Micro USB cable to the USB power source. Connect the power source to a wall mount. If the TV set has a USB port, you can also connect the USB cable directly to it without the power source, but we recommend using mains current If you received an IR sensor with your TV Stick, connect its cable to the TV Stick's IR port. Use the supplied sticker to attach the IR sensor to the TV set so that the IR sensor is facing the remote. 6. If it is not possible to use a wireless connection, use a fixed line connection. Connect the network cable (RJ45) to the Ethernet port of the Watson Stick and the other end to a network terminal. 7. Once you've chosen an installation language, choose whether you would like to use a fixed or wireless connection. If you are using a wireless connection, your TV Stick will search for wireless networks. Select your own network, enter the password if required, and press OK. Always select Automatic (DHCP) as the IP address type, regardless of whether you are using a fixed or wireless network. 1. HDMI connector. Connect this directly to your television. 2. Power/USB port. Connect the Micro USB cable here and connect the other end of it directly to the television. 3. IR port. If your TV Stick has an IR sensor, connect the cable here. 4. Ethernet port. If you are not using a wireless network, connect your cable here. 5. AV port. If your television has no HDMI port, connect the AV cable here. More detailed information on TV-Stick set-up can be found in the instructions for set-up provided with the device. 4
1.2 Logging in Select a language for the user interface. Scroll through the options using the arrow buttons on the remote control and confirm your selection by pressing the ENTER button. Log in using the remote control's arrow buttons. If you need to use letters, you can access them using the remote control's ENTER button. Enter the user ID and password you received. You need these when opening the service for the first time. 1.3 Aspect ratio and sound settings After you've logged in, adjust the aspect ratio and sound settings Aspect handler: The aspect ratio of a modern widescreen TV is 16:9, while in older televisions it's 4:3. Aspect ratio selection: STB (recommended): the box will automatically select the aspect ratio. TV: The TV automatically selects the aspect ratio. HDMI display mode: If using an HD ready television, select 720P. If you are using a Full HD television, select 1080P. If you're unsure, check your television's manual or check to see if your television is marked as "HD ready" or "Full HD". Audio output: Select Stereo or Dolby Digital Surround. After the settings have been adjusted, the Watson service will appear on the TV screen. 5
2 WATSON SERVICE FEATURES 2.1 Main menu All Watson functions can be found in the main menu. You can access the main menu from TV mode by pressing the TOP MENU button on the remote control. TV: Watch Live TV or browse the programme guide. Programmes: Search for and watch all programmes. Archive: Contains all the programmes you've recorded in the last six months. Movie rentals: Here you can rent movies. You can also find the C More Play video library, part of the MTV Total and C More Film packages, in this menu. Channel packages: Use this tab to order channel packages using your PIN code. Most watched: Find the most popular programmes for today or this week. Settings: Change the Watson settings and activate channel recordings. N.B.! When you move to the main menu, the TV channel you last watched is always visible in the top right-hand corner of the main menu screen. 6
2.2 Watching Live TV You can watch Live TV by selecting TV on the TV menu. Press the OK button when watching Live TV to bring up the channel list. You can also set a programme for recording, watch the programme from the start or stop watching. If you start watching the programme from the beginning, you will be watching a recording. To return to Live TV, press the OK button. 2.3 Recording features After you've activated the channels you want (see 2.3.1), the entire programme range from the TV channels you've selected will be recorded until you change your specified recordings. In addition to continuous recording, you can also save individual programmes in the Archive. Recordings will be stored in Archive for six months. The range of programmes from activated channels on the other hand, will be stored for two weeks Activating recording You can activate recording by clicking Settings from the main menu and choosing Start recording from the submenu. The Start recording menu will list channels which you can set for recording. Use the arrow buttons to select the channel to record and then confirm your selection by pressing the ENTER button on the remote control. The red ball next to the channel indicates that the channel is continuously recorded. Once you've chosen the channels you want to record, use the arrow buttons to move to Record and then press the ENTER button. You can make changes to your recordings whenever you like in the Start recording screen. You can add or remove channels from the recording list. You can also stop recording whenever you like. If new channels are added to the basic channel range, recordings for these channels must be set manually after they are added Recording individual programmes You can also record individual programmes direct from the programme guide. Open the programme guide and choose the programme you'd like to record by pressing the ENTER button. Then select either Record or Always record. If you select Always record, the programme, e.g., a TV series, will be recorded and stored in Archive each time it is broadcasted. Programmes in Archive are stored and can be watched for a maximum of six months. In addition to the programme guide you can record programmes in Archives using the Programmes menu. 7
2.3.3 Watching programmes and archived recordings You can watch programmes from channels which you've set for active recording using the Programme menu. Just choose the day, channel and programme in All programmes, then press the ENTER button to start watching. The selected programme can also be stored for six months in archives. You can watch programmes which you have saved separately in Archive. Choose a programme and open it by pressing the ENTER button. You can also delete a recording in the same way. 2.4 Channel packages You can order channel packages using the Channel packages menu. Choose the channel package you'd like and confirm your order using your PIN code. When you order a channel package, you receive one viewing right per Watson ID. This means that you can watch the channel package you've ordered using any device you like, but only on one device at a time. You can also watch Pay TV channels you've ordered using your computer's internet browser, a smart phone (Android/iOS) or a tablet (Android/iOS). Please note that the Channel packages menu also contains some free channel packages. 2.5 Rental movies You can also rent movies through the Watson service. The range includes Makuuni, C More Play and Hustler. C More Play is a video library service which is included in the MTV Total and C More Film channel packages. Viewers can review movies they've watched by giving them stars to help others find the most popular movies. Regardless of which device you used to order the movie, you can start viewing or continue viewing the movie on another device. Movie rental is valid for 24 hours from the moment of purchase. You can watch the rental movie as many times as you like. Rental movies cannot be recorded. 8
2.5.1 Renting a movie You can access movie rental through the main menu by pressing the TOP MENU button on the remote control and then by selecting Select movie from the rental movie menu. The versatile search function helps you to easily find the right movie. You can search for movies either by category, by alphabetical search or by browsing through the most watched, newest or active rentals movie lists. The Active rentals menu shows your valid rentals. The Most watched menu shows the most popular movies. The Newest menu shows the latest movies to be added to the rental service. You can rent movies by selecting the movie you want using the ENTER button. This opens a new window showing detailed information about the movie. Select Rent and confirm your order using your PIN code Good to know about movie rentals Parental control Parental control is located in Settings under the main menu. You can decide which movies to show in the rental service based on age restrictions. Confirm all changes of age limits by using your PIN code. Parental control is on by default. The service's default PIN code is Language settings (speech and subtitles) You can change the language settings for movies and programmes in the Settings menu under Edit.
