Classified as Green Plus by RINA, for her ability to use battery power and at the same time remain anchored for long periods without having to make use of generators, she is able to eliminated emissions reducing both vibration and noise. She is also very frugal when it comes to gas guzzling. Her range is proving to be better than the predicted 4,000 nautical miles when she makes ocean going passages at 11 knots. There is tankage for 13,200 gallons of fuel and it feeds twin Caterpillar C32 AC- ERTs. Twin MTU 4000 M63 diesels are also an option. The vast aft deck of the 460 EXP makes for a useful entertainment space when the fleet of tenders and toys are launched. Also note the pool with counter-current feature for exercise swims. Engineering her for long distances and self-sufficiency was not enough for Sanlorenzo. They also wanted her to be large enough to carry an owner s party of 12 yet small enough to maneuver in and out of marinas and the more intimate and therefore more interesting harbors. Even with her steel displacement hull, she carries a relatively shallow draft of 8 2 at full load and while too deep, for say, the Bahamas, is going to be fine in most off the beaten track destinations she is likely to encounter. Designer Francesco Paszkowski was called upon to give the yacht her chunky good looks and was charged with the responsibility of finding room for the mini-armada of toys that she carries. 3 The main salon is light and airy, finished to high standards in a contemporary style and would prove extremely comfortable during extended cruises. Most explorers follow the interior of a traditional sailing yacht in styling, reflecting the movement of mature owners from one genre to the other. Sanlorenzo are attracting a new younger generation to exploring with their launch of the 460 EXP. high level of luxury living to go hand in hand with her long range capabilities. The thinking behind this philosophy being that if guests are to spend extended periods of time on board that they will want to do so in great comfort and will need plenty to keep them occupy them while the yacht makes long ocean going passages. As a result she offers exceptional on board living spaces, and because she is an explorer yacht allows space for large storage areas Unusually for an explorer yacht, the interior is somewhat contemporary almost loft like in design. Decorated in a warm and homely style, the décor has been chosen by the owner and is perfectly in keeping with expedition boat philosophy envisaged by the builder. The heavy use of wood in classical shades the likes of mahogany and teak, have been matched with sober, elegant and timeless furniture finished with intensely colored leathers that make you want to sink into the sofas relax and put at ease with a good book written about adventures at sea

4 Down below Sanlorenzo have found the space for four guest cabins, a VIP suite and a gym! Her internal volumes have allowed for wide ally ways and with excellent headroom in all living areas give the yacht a pleasing open feel. The layout of the main saloon and dinning area is unconventional. Instead of the more usual aft sliding doors a trio of panoramic windows look out to the deck with a large sofa below. Here are the same area one deck above feature the only curtains in the yacht, every other window and porthole having blinds instead. The outside aft entrance to the yacht is via a large glass door to port and the whole area surprisingly feels more gracious and spacious. The wide planked wooden floor, angular furniture and grey, off white and warm 234 wood providing neutral colors enhance the contemporary feel of this area and the rest of the yacht. Food is clearly important on a long voyage and the yacht features a sizable and well equipped galley to port separated from the dinning saloon by a useful pantry The Upper Saloon follows the main saloon design with the same wide plank teak decking, color scheme and furniture style. Almost floor to ceiling windows and door on three sides floods this room with natural light. The style of the deck outside continues the theme from inside uniting the two areas in a very hospitable fashion. The main deck master suite forward is full beam taking full advantage of a width of over 30 feet. Of course due to the huge amount of area devoted to external toy capacity by necessity the master bedroom lacks length. Here the contemporary and modern feel of the interior design is softened by a silk fitted carpet which feels luxurious underfoot. The master bathroom, again full width, has his and her mirror image facilities with a central shared shower. The remaining guest cabins are on the lower deck and despite having only 139 feet of yacht to play with the shipyard has managed to fit in 5 guests cabins and a gym. 5 ship Sanlorenzo has grown substantially and is expected to exceed 220m turnover in 2015 and had almost 900 employees at the end of 2014 (200 of which were directly employed.) Company turnover in 2014 was 208m which was a 30% increase over the previous year. This years turnover is expected to amount to over 220m, with a large portfolio of standing orders which were valued at 270m in September With 65% of sales taking place in EMEA, 26% in the Americas and 9% in the APAC - Europe continues to be the builders domestic market with over 50% of sales taking place in the region. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in 2015 is expected to exceed 22m with a predicted net profit of over 8 million. The company invested 10m in its new products in 2014, and has since increased its investment to 15 million in Much of this investment has been directed towards the builder s historic La Spezia facility, including the construction of a new docks and the restructuring of the existing shipyard, which is timetabled for completion in Production capacity will be increased through this 20 million investment, after which the new facility will span 215,000 ft2 with 108,000 ft2 of covered space. Sanlorenzo has recently announced the creation of its own dedicated Design Center that will work in conjunction with the company s Research and Development department to develop a series of new products, as well as technological innovations. The Design Center will investigate innovative solutions such as new materials and hybrid engines for incorporation into existing models and future additions to the Sanlorenzo fleet. The last cabin to port forward is set up as a well equipped gym and could not be used as a cabin as it lacks a private bathroom Three crew cabins are further forward on the same deck, while the captain cabin is located aft of the yachts pilot house on the bridge deck. Little wonder that hull numbers two and three are now already sold and currently under construction and if they turn out like this first one, the chances are that more will follow. That can only be good news for Sanlorenzo who in the last year declared a handsome profit. While the rest of the world has was suffering from a monetary crisis Sanlorenzo was quietly holding its own. Not one company job was lost during crisis and now that the economy is picking up again, the company believes its tradition European market is back in the boat buying business and the US market is showing signs of a maturing comeback. If there has been a shift in the market they say it is in the demise of the once buoyant market from the former soviet block Sanlorenzo has been building quality motor yachts since its foundation in 1958 yet remains close to its roots as a boutique builder given its small production output per year. It is perhaps because they produce less units than other builders in Italy that their dedication towards customization shines through. Unlike many builders in recent times the yard reports a significant increase in turnover in 2015 and announces 270 million of orders for In the last 50 years the company has built over 750 yachts, each as different as the other.
