Our goal is that each guest will have this comment to share with friends and family. A 5 day tour experiencing the pleasures of the northern Portuguese customs, a rich culture that comes from medieval times. During this tour guests will visit Porto and the Douro Valley. 2 The Douro Valley the oldest demarcated wine region The Tour Porto is one of the oldest European cities and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is Portugal s second largest city. A visit to the Douro Valley is the perfect opportunity to taste the Porto Wine, see where is produced and learn about this special wine from the experts. From arrival till departure, you will be guided by a very experienced native guide. English is the spoken language during the tour. Meals and lodging are organized previously and are included in the tour price according with the details of the tour. Every day will include one or more walks of an easy level and always adjusted to the group s pace and characteristics. The detailed schedule will be given after confirmation of the reservation. Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Arriving in Porto We will meet you at the airport and from there we will take the group for a guided walk in Porto. The transfer to the accommodation will take around one hour and a half to cover 171km s/106mi, east from Porto. The exact schedule on the day will depend of guests travel arrangements. The Douro Valley The Douro Valley Wine Region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The UNESCO website states: Alto Douro is an outstanding example of a traditional European wineproducing region, reflecting the evolution of this human activity over time. Lamego and vineyards Lamego is an ancient village, rooted in History, from the time of the Romans to the (myth) of the coronation of the first Portuguese king. You will have a guided walk crossing vineyards and a guided tour in Lamego. An afternoon surprise picnic will reward guests with cheese, wine, ham and salad. The Douro Valley line The Douro Valley train is a wonderful way to get to know the Douro river and you will have the opportunity to travel on it for a short trip before a walk. Included in the day s activities is a river cruise on a traditional Douro boat (Barco Rebelo), followed by a visit to a Port cellar and wine tasting. Oporto and departure This will be a transfer day to Porto and the schedule of the day will very much depend of the guests travel arrangements. You will be given several options depending on the time you will have available.

3 The Douro Valley - tour accomodation The accommodation Two different locations to spend four nights: a city (Porto) and a small wine village by the river (Pinhão). The first and second nights will be spent in a wineproducing family manor house at Pinhão, by the river Douro. Traveling to Pinhão will take you on a journey to the countryside, away from the city stir and we guess you will be pleased to arrive to this small and quite village surrounded by vineyards to embrace the Douro Valley spirit. The walks along the river Douro, the wine tasting and the river boat cruise will became dear memories of the region. The third and forth nights will be spent in an impressive five stars hotel in Porto s center, one of the finest hotel in Porto. 1st & 2nd nights 1st & 2nd nights Casa do Visconde de Chanceleiros This 18th Century manor house is surrounded by beautiful countryside.
