3 Statistical Highlights There were 11,003 claims filed in that caused employees to miss work 5 or more days. There were 2,765 claims controverted in. Hinds County was the county with the most occurrence of injuries with a total of 1,216 claims followed by Harrison county with 770 claims. Females were reported less frequently with 4,408 claims (40.1%). Major injuries or illnesses occurred on Tuesday, with a total of 2,074 claims. October was reported most frequently as the month of occurrence with 1,024 claims or 9.3% followed by August with 1,023 claims or 9.3%. Strain was the leading nature of injury with 3,952 claims or 35.9%. Lower Back -Lumbar was the part of body affected most with a total of 1,488 claims or 13.5% followed by Multiple Body Parts with a total of 1,279 claims or 11.6%. Lifting was the leading cause of injury with a total of 1,407 claims or 12.8%, followed by Fall Slip, trip with 990 claims or 9.0%. There were 68 fatalities reported in. There were 7,821 claims received from Insurance carriers, 3,112 from Self-Insured employers.
