This is what I need to do to achieve each level Level 1 I can copy single words, label items and complete sentences with a single word. Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 I can copy familiar phrases correctly and can write single words from memory. I can put together a sequence of two or three sentences using a text book or my exercise book or my vocab sheet I can produce a short paragraph of French / German largely from memory. I can adapt a model to say what I want to say. I am starting to use a dictionary to check spellings. Level 5 Level 6 I can produce short pieces of writing both to give and to ask for information. I can write in the present and in the past or future tense. I can use a dictionary to look up unknown words. I can write in paragraphs and can use the present, past and future tense. I can apply my knowledge of grammar in new contexts. I can also use a variety of different sentence structures and I can make my writing really descriptive. I can also use a dictionary to help me.
