One-VA VPN Connection Guide for Windows

1 Scope This document provides instructions on how to install/uninstall the One-VA VPN Client and connect to the One-VA VPN using the Windows operating system (OS). Procedure All One-VA VPN users are responsible to comply with all requirements set forth within the documentation under the One-VA VPN Compliance Documentation section posted at VPN 5.0 Client Install/Uninstall Guide Please ensure all other VPN clients have been removed from your system before installing the VPN 5.0 Client. You must be an Administrator on the system to be able to install / uninstall the VPN Client. Users with government furnished equipment should contact their Local Information Resource Management IRM Staff. Uninstall Instructions Click on Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. You will see the screen below: Locate One-VA VPN Client and click on Remove. 1

2 You will see the screen below. Click on Yes. You will see the following screen: You should no longer see the One-VA VPN Client in the list of Add/Remove Programs. Restart System. 2

3 Install instructions Open Internet Explorer and access the following website: Enter in your AD account and password and click Login. (Windows Login) Click OK to continue. 3

4 Click on the Client Download Please Read the Install instructions before installing the VPN client Software Click on Cisco VPN Install 4

5 Click on Cisco VPN Install Click on Save. Ensure it says Save in: Desktop at the top of the screen. Click on Save. 5

6 After clicking on Save, you will see the following screen. This may take a few minutes. Click Open. 6

7 Extract all files to your Desktop After Clicking on Extract All Files, you will see the following Extraction Wizard. Click on Next. 7

8 Click on Next. Ensure the Show Extracted Files Check Box is checked. Click on Finish. 8

9 After the install package is extracted, Double Click on the Folder One-VA VPN Support Setup The following screen will appear. Double click the One-VA VPN Support Setup folder. 9

10 The following screen will appear, click on the Setup icon. Click Next on the following Setup screen. 10

11 Click I accept the license agreement and Next on the following License Agreement screen. Click Next on the following screen. 11

12 Click Next to begin installation. After clicking Next, the following screen will appear. The installation may take a few minutes. If you receive an Error 1406 error message during the installation, please click on Ignore and continue with the installation. 12

13 Installation has completed. Click on Finish. The VPN client should be successfully installed on your PC 13

14 One-VA Standard Operating Procedure Connection Guide To access the One-VA VPN client please follow the instructions below: 1. Connect to the One-VA VPN by clicking on Start/All Programs/One-VA VPN Client/One-VA VPN. After launching the One-VA VPN client, the user will see multiple One-VA VPN connection entries to log into the One-VA VPN. The VPN user will be able to connect to any of these OneVA VPN connection entries to access their VA network resources. 14

15 2. Click on the Connect button. The user will be prompted to enter the following information: a. Username b. Password c. Domain 3. After typing in your logon information, click OK and you should receive the following banner indicating you are connected to the One-VA VPN: Password issues should be referred to your Information Resource Management (IRM) If you are receiving an error message or can not connect to the VPN, please contact the VANSOC helpdesk at Once connected to the One-VA VPN, you should be able to access your VA Network Resources (Citrix, Vista, VA , etc) as if you were at your local VA Facility. If the system you are using does not have the needed applications installed, you will need to contact your local Information Resource Management (IRM) Staff to obtain those resources.
