2 Dear Sister Leaders, We are excited to personally welcome you to the inaugural Executive Women of Color Summit: Women Leveraging Change where we will begin to change the representation of Women of Color in Executive Leadership and on Boards. As you may know, we (Women of Color) represent a mere 2.8% of all board seats and in senior leadership roles African American women specifically hold less than 2% (1.4%) of such positions in broader Corporate America. While in the healthcare industry there are no definitive numbers on the percent of Women on boards or in Senior Leadership roles and no tracking of women of color. After more than twenty years of having conversations about diversity, especially in Executive roles, we continue to see little to no progress. It is time to change the dynamic. If we do not intentionally leverage the power and influence we possess there will be no next generation of Women of Color Leaders. The Women Leveraging Change Summit has been designed to provide a trusted environment where we can share authentically and collaborate together with like minded women. We will provide Summit participants with tools and resources to further their success and professional growth, while simultaneously creating an influential network to leverage change. We have invited some of the most sought after speakers to share real talk about our challenges as Executive Women of Color and how we overcome. Dr. Katherine Giscombe, Catalyst, Inc. will set the tone for the conference as she shares her ground breaking research on the opportunities and barriers of Women of Color followed by a panel of experts on Playing the Board Game who will share their experiences on snagging the board seat and how you can position yourself for a Board opportunity. The Master Class will be Up Close and Personal with Patricia Webb who will share lessons learned on her way to the C-Suite and how she navigated family, relationships, career growth and LIFE. Lastly, but certainly not least, Audra Bohannon, Senior Partner, Korn Ferry and BE Women of Power alumnus, will culminate the day s journey into an evolving legacy playbook.
