The findings are now implemented in the customer s IT environment, for instance a prediction model to determine the optimum time for dressing the electrode tips during resistance spot welding. Here are three of the innovative techniques we employ: Running time-consuming series of tests to analyze correlations is a thing of the past. We help our customers to analyze influencing factors and disturbances and to identify cause-effect relationships using their existing production data in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the cost. Dynamic time warping As a variant of clustering, dynamic time warping can compare two given sequences (e.g. time series) even if they vary in length or speed. It is thus commonly used for speech recognition or shape matching applications. Deep learning neural networks A deep learning neural network is a variant of the neural net analytics method. It contains extra layers between the input and output layers so that it can model complex data. This method is used for predictive modeling in classification and regression analysis. Gradient boosting on decision trees Gradient boosting is a variant of the decision tree method. It is based on an ensemble of decision trees and focuses on the correct prediction of remaining errors with each subsequent tree.
