1 Honors Program Degree Requirements Effective for Fall 2013 Onwards College: Engineering Honors Program Degree Requirements:. Honors Students are requested to fulfill a minimum of 24 CH of Honors courses. s are divided between Honors core courses and Honors courses taken from the student Major study plan. Table 1 shows the overall Honors Program requirements, while the rest of the tables show the courses from the student Major that can be taken as Honors courses via contract. Table 1: Honors Program General Requirements and study plan Credit- Honors Freshman Seminar 1 (HONS100) Any Two Honors Core Curriculum s as offered by the Honors Program 2 9 CH Major-based Honors s 3 Seminar (HONS 498), Honors Thesis (Senior Project, Capstone, etc.) (HONS 499) 24 CH Total Honors Degree Requirement 1 The Freshman Seminar course is a must for all Honors students. It can be counted as a free elective or as a course taken from the core curriculum program courses. HON100 Freshman seminar is shown in the student catalog under the General Skills Package. 2 Honors s are usually offered from various packages as shown in the student Handbook catalog (packages such as: common package, Humanities, Social/Behavioral Sciences, General Knowledge package, etc ). Students need to check with the Honors office to see what courses are on offer each term. 3 3 Major-based courses are required to be taken as contract course until enough students are available to justify opening a stand-alone section. The student is required to take 9 CH from the list provided in the tables. It is better if the student divides the courses between Fall and Spring Semesters.
