5 ADDENDUM PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES (HONORS and OTHER) SAM HOUSTON STATE UNIVERSITY Organized the Honors Program at Sam Houston State University (there was no previous program). Developed a variety of unique Honors classes, including Perspectives on the Present and Integrated Science. Aug., 1987 Aug., 1993 TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY Found an Honors Program of four identifiable students and have built the program to an organization of approx participants. Average SAT 1340, average gpa of continuing students, Aug., 1993 through present Developed the Honors Program into an Honors College. Sept. 1, 1998 to present NATIONAL HONORS MOVEMENT Served for three years on the executive committee of the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC), the governing body of U. S. Honors movements; Co-Chair, Finance Committee, NCHC; 2000-present I have been an Honors consultant to other Honors Programs especially for the state of Texas (Texas Christian University, Texas Woman s University, Abilene Christian University, Lubbock Christian University, Gulf Coast Community College Consortium, San Jacinto Community College, Texas A&M, Corpus Christi, etc.) and for non-texas schools as well (North Carolina State, University of Louisville, University of Mississippi) I have presented numerous times to conference sessions at both the NCHC and Great Plains Honors Council (GPHC).
