1 Job Description Job Title Principal Web Developer Salary LIPA Scale 12 Responsible To Business Systems Development Manager Responsible For N/A Number in Post None Date created May 2015 Job Purpose The Principal SharePoint Developer will focus on the design, development and implementation of SharePoint On-premise and SharePoint Online based solutions to meet the website needs of all LIPA branded and associated business activities. Major Tasks 1. To work with the chosen primary business applications (and associated development tools/environments/coding languages); 2. To support the business requirements for the provision of all LIPA brand websites; 3. To assist in the development and support of other web based strategic application software within the business; 4. To implement application development requirements; 5. To provide advice and support to colleagues on technologies and information structures for managing information via the web; 6. To act as technical expert for identified internal applications and share knowledge, where appropriate; 7. To provide advice and support in policy development and good practice; 8. To follow SharePoint best practices in content management and taxonomy; 9. To ensure website design, development and usage is in line with LIPA Policy and branding guidelines; 10. To define, plan and manage the release of application updates; 11. To create/maintain Content Management Systems inside SharePoint (but on occasion outside); 12. To provide 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd line support to the required LIPA Stakeholders; 13. To keep abreast of new and emerging technologies and methodologies; 14. To maintain a Personal Development Plan as agreed with line manager; 15. To carry out other tasks as agreed with the Line Manager. Page 1/8

2 Job Activities Major Task 1 1. To work with the chosen primary business applications (and associated development tools/environments/coding languages), including (but not limited to): Microsoft SharePoint 2013 (On-Premises); MS SharePoint Online (Office365); SharePoint Designer; Visual Studio; SQL Server (for DB integration tasks); HTML5, CSS3; Jquery; ASP.Net; PowerShell. Major Task 2 2. To support the business requirements for the provision of all LIPA brand websites, and working with colleagues (internal and external) to: 2.1. stablish and document functional requirements 2.2. Produce and document solution designs 2.3. Produce, develop and engage in test planning cycles 2.4. Produce and document project plans for the delivery of development works 2.5. Produce required reporting and monitoring information 2.6. Manage risk, quality assurance and change management 2.7. Build SharePoint Site collections and Web Applications 2.8. Develop and deploy SharePoint features Major Task 3 3. To assist in the development and support of other web based strategic application software within the business Working with colleagues and stakeholder departments in the appropriate forums. Major Task 4 4. To implement application development requirements, including: 4.1. Application configuration installation and setup; 4.2. Development of code to compliment/provide application functionality that: Conforms to internationally recognised accessibility standards; Has cross browser compatibility, across different device platforms Configuration and customisation of integration tasks, workflow, forms, web parts, pages, navigation and security development. Major Task Maintain a Personal Development Plan as agreed with line manager To take part in IT Team Meetings; Annual appraisals of performance and knowledge/skills. Major Task To carry out other tasks as agreed with the Line Manager. Miscellaneous Duties Attends (by request) ICT Committee Meetings; Works flexibly including contributing to work projects of a general nature and providing cover for other staff; Participates in staff appraisals and training programmes as required. Carries out duties at all times with due regard to Data Protection/confidentiality, qual Opportunities, Health and Safety and other policies as agreed and revised from time to time. Notes: This job description will be reviewed annually as part of the appraisal process and may be varied in the light of our changing business needs. Location: The job is initially located on our main site. However, it may be that from time to time the post holder will be required to work on different duties, or in any other jobs, within his / her competence, such jobs being in his / her present or any other location as may be deemed appropriate.
