1 VON & SOMRST FIR & RSCU SRVIC INSURANC & RISK AMINISTRATION ASSISTANT CORPORAT SRVICS Based at Service Headquarters, Clyst St George xeter Temporary Contract for approximately 6 months to cover temporary promotion of substantive post holder 37 hours per week - Flexible Working System Grade 3 Salary 16,830 to 19,126 Appointments are normally made at the lowest point of the scale The Insurance & Risk Section provides a complete insurance service from arranging insurance cover to claims handling and responsibility for corporate risk and business continuity. As such, maintains a corporate risk register which includes identification of mitigating actions to reduce organisational risk and business continuity plans which detail how service delivery will be maintained should an event occur which removes the availability of resources. We are seeking a well-organised, self-motivated individual with proven administration, time management, word processing and data input skills (Outlook, Word, xcel & PowerPoint packages); excellent written and verbal communication skills and good analytical and numerical skills. Additionally the post holder will provide project support involving research, analysis, problem solving and identifying opportunities for improvement. Minute taking experience is desirable. To provide comprehensive administrative and project management support for the Insurance & Risk department Main Responsibilities and uties: What needs to be done? To be responsible for maintaining and updating essential spread sheets, databases and systems, in accordance with the ata Protection Act if applicable. Including inputting and processing data, preparing, analysing and distributing reports and information and taking follow up action where necessary, in a timely manner. 2. To support the departments goals and objectives, in accordance with SFRS policies and procedures and participate in a team based environment. 3. To provide clerical and administrative support to other members of the team, including but not exclusive of the following: Administration and clerical duties such as word processing correspondence and/or documents for internal and external recipients either on own initiative or as directed. Using and amending, service wide standard letters/paragraphs and other media. ealing with general queries through various mediums. Administer motor claims liaising with insurers and third parties. iary management, organising and attending meetings, preparing documents prior to meeting, representing department and/or minute taking. Maintaining professional publications and/or other publications and directories. Answering the telephone, dealing with general enquiries and taking messages, Maintenance of departmental filing and monitoring systems (hard copy and electronic).
