1 Ms. Anne I grew up in South Dakota, taught in Minnesota and Germany, then moved to Alaska where I lived for 32 years. I moved to Colorado over a year ago to be closer to my parents and siblings, who all live in S.D. or the Denver area. I m a retired teacher, and have taught everything from preschool through high school, though I primarily taught 1 st, 2 nd, or 3 rd grade, as well as many years of special education at all levels, including preschool. I started subbing at the Golden Community Preschool last year, and love working with preschoolers, as well as their wonderful parents and teachers. I am currently teaching in the Green Room.

2 Ms. Bonnie Hello I m Bonnie! I m a Colorado native and have been living in Golden for 18 years. My experience in Early Childhood Education has been over 20 years. I have been here at the Golden Community Preschool since Prior to coming here I worked for the Jefferson County Head Start Program. My Bachelor's degree is in Liberal Arts with a major in Psychology and a minor in Family Studies. I am Early Childhood Director Qualified. I am married with 5 children between the ages of 6 & 22. Also, I m an avid volleyball, hockey, soccer & Western Aires mom.

3 Ms. Chelsea Chelsea was born and raised in Golden and the surrounding area. She spent her high school years volunteering at a day care before starting work at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center as child care attendant where she worked while studying Fine Arts at Red Rocks Community College. Following her work at the day care, she worked at the Morrison Natural History Museum where she was the Museum Assistant where she was the educator for all of the school tours and walk-in tours for the museum. After three years of working at the museum, she returned to school to finish up her BFA in Sustainable Design from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. It did not take her long to miss working with children and she went back to school yet again to finish up her Early Childhood Education Classes and become Lead Teacher Certified. She worked as a sub at the Golden Community Center Preschool until she moved into an instructor position in January This will be her third school year with the GCC Green Room.

4 Ms. Connie My name is Connie and I am excited to be starting my 3rd year as a teacher here at the Golden Community Center Preschool. I am originally from Colorado Springs, where I taught 3rd grade for 12 years. When I moved to Golden, I took a few years off to be a stay at home mom. I love spending time with my beautiful daughter, hanging out with friends, going to movies, and reading. I love working with children so much that I have spent the last 2 summers being the coordinator for the Junior Adventure Camp here at the GCC. Teaching is my passion and I feel so fortunate to be able to pursue my passion in such a wonderful, supportive community and with coworkers who have truly become family!

5 Ms. Judith Hi, my name is Judith. I am excited to be working with the kids at the Golden Community Preschool. I have 3 wonderful and rambunctious kiddos of my own, who keep me on my toes. I love spending time with my kiddos, bringing them new places, and watching them explore the world around them. I enjoy reading and watching movies because they take me to a different world. I also like to travel to new places, experience other cultures. I m excited about getting back into teaching. I have worked with and taken care of kids basically my whole life. I have 5 siblings, so there were lots of kids around me at all times. I graduated from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where I grew up, with a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education. I taught 5th grade at a local private school for 2 years, and really love the little ones. I m looking forward to getting to know each of you as a part of our community and our Golden Family!

6 Ms. Julie My name is Julie Adkins and I m a Colorado Native. I have been in early childhood education for about 14 years. I have worn many hats in this field from teacher, substitute, bus driver, coordinator, director, and of course the inner child. I truly believe in the importance of early learning and development, and enjoy witnessing the progress children, staff, and families make during the year. I am so excited to be a part of the City of Golden team and work with such qualified and wonderful teachers! I have a bachelors degree is in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology. I also have a masters degree is in Early Childhood Education with a license in Special Education. I just couldn t get enough of the little ones. My husband Stretch (his real name is Jason) and I enjoy a healthy social life and many outdoor activities, such as, golf, fishing, skiing (although I snowboard), and climbing. We are very active and really love people and positive energy!

7 Ms. Katie This is my second year with Golden Community Preschool. I am a substitute for the preschool program, I have a child that has been in the preschool for two years and we absolutely love being a part of this community! I have 10 years experience in preschool that started in Durango Colorado, while attending Fort Lewis College. I graduated Fort Lewis with a BA in Psychology; I live in Golden with my husband and two children and love Golden and all it has to offer. I love to read, bike, and spend time outdoors as much as possible. Golden Community Center has become more like family and I love being witness to the growth and development of our preschool kids.

8 Ms. Linnea Linnea has been part of this preschool team for 3 years and has had children in it for 2 years! As a parent, it s been wonderful to see my child benefit from such a great program. As a teacher, I look forward to being here every day! Linnea moved to Colorado from Pittsburgh after finishing her MS in Environmental Education in Linnea worked for the Denver Parks and Recreation Special Needs Program working with children ages 3-5 years. Before that, she worked for the Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education. When Linnea isn t here, she is with her son, daughter and husband. Her hobbies are video games, painting miniatures, cross-stitching, and playing music.

9 Ms. Molly Hello! I love being part of the Golden Community and working at the preschool. We have a great team and I feel we are one big family! I graduated with my BS in elementary education from Southern Connecticut State University and love working with the little ones. In my free time, I love to be outdoors camping and hiking. I enjoy cooking, baking and drinking coffee.

10 Jefferson Center for Mental Health Carla Early Childhood Specialist Carla Sciarrino holds a B.A. in Child Development with a concentration in children 0-5 and their families at San Francisco State University and a Masters in Social Work from Smith College. She has worked in the child care and education fields for 14 years before pursuing a career as a therapist. As a therapist Carla has worked with young children, adolescents, the LGBTQ community, and clients who were living with HIV/AIDS in San Francisco, but her passion lies with young children and their families. After moving to Colorado, Carla joined the Early Intervention team at the Jefferson Center for Mental Health and provides consultation to child care centers and preschools in Jefferson, Clear Creek, and Gilpin Counties. We are very fortunate to have Carla as our Mental Health Specialist! She will provide classroom support, staff support, family and child support for our community.

12 Ms. Karen Hi! My name is Karen and I work for Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL). I am your child s Kids and Families Outreach Librarian. I am part of a current team of 5 librarians who visit 38 local preschools and give over 125 story times a month. And, every month, we also deliver over 70 book deposit collections (20 library books) to the sites. I visit classrooms to read stories, sing songs, teach rhymes and move around with the kids. I am bilingual, English/Spanish, and I translate stories, songs and rhymes into Spanish. I was an Early Childhood Educator for 12 years and I am very dedicated to serving children and families in Jefferson County. I am local to Golden for the last 13 years, so if you see me around town, say Hi or Hola to me! Story time visits are only a part of our Early Literacy Outreach efforts. I would love to share more of what JCPL is doing in your community.

13 Biography of Marlene A. Evans BSN, RN Marlene is a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Northern Colorado in She has obtained her Colorado Educational License after graduating from a 2-year induction program held within Adams 12 School District in May Marlene has been a pediatric nurse for over 20 years. Her last 20 years included Pediatric Intensive Care Nursing for 14 years as well as Post Anesthesia Care for 4 years at the Children Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She has been Pediatric Advanced Life Support certified for 18 years. Marlene worked as a District Nurse for Adams 12 School District for 2 years during which time she serviced 5,700 students. She organized and held the first mass vaccination clinics within Adams 12 School District and serviced several hundred students. She organized the vaccination clinics by building relationships with the Tri-County Health Department. Marlene regularly participated in the Colorado School Nursing Association and the National School Nursing Association groups. She has presented her mass vaccination clinic project to the leadership team of the Colorado School Nursing Association. She has a passion for all aspects of caring for children and is very pleased to be a Pediatric Nurse Consultant. She is very fortunate to have the opportunity to serve all children. Marlene is happy to have the opportunity to work in the child care and education areas, along with the team of child care providers, parents and staff.
