3 Aim of the workshop The 2011 IVF Preceptorship will be taking a new approach to bringing clinicians and other professions involved in ART up to date. The two-day program, which is focusing this year on poor responders and on new laboratory techniques, will be delivered using an innovative mix of traditional lectures, interactive working groups, case studies and video sessions. Participants learning will be supported on-site with a full workbook containing key slides, reading lists and presentations, and there will be the opportunity to follow a subsequent series of post-meeting followup activities. The case studies and workshop sessions will examine many aspects of the definition, detection and management of poor response, and the video sessions will include 3D ultrasonography, time-lapse observation of human embryos and an introduction to new laboratory topics and techniques. Learning objectives At the end of the workshop, the attendees will be able to: understand the prediction, causes and management of poor response identify markers, protocols and clinical issue apply the highest standards of laboratory procedures learn about new techniques and related applications implement optimal ways to interact with patients in order to share treatment planning and increase compliance Target audience Trained physicians (5 10 years) who are already involved in investigation and treatment of infertility and gynecologists and endocrinologists beginning to work in IVF.
