3 THE LARGEST TECHNICAL MEETING OF BRAZILIAN CEMENT INDUSTRY IS BACK Brazil is a country hegemonically built in concrete. And every construction involves the Brazilian cement industry, which has done expressive investments expanding its production capacity, always seeking new fabrication technologies that increasingly minimize environmental impacts. To know the actions developed by this industry, it is important the creation of opportunities that enable the trade professionals and companies to present all actions conducted and innovations in production process, so as to foment exchange of experiences and transfer of the most updated knowledge on cement national and international industry. And the main opportunity for that is through the sector technical entity, the Brazilian Association of Portland Cement, ABCP, which has reedited the biannual Brazilian Cement Conference CBCi, thus promoting the chief technical event of the sector. In 2016, year when the Association celebrates 80 years of foundation, the chief commemorative event of this mark, CBCi 7th edition, will take place in São Paulo. And, once again, the conference will gather around 350 professionals linked to cement industry supplier companies, professionals of the sector, university researchers and Latin America and Brazilian cement group representatives, to discuss themes like: innovations in cement fabrication, competitiveness, emissions, environmental controls, cement normalization and quality, as well as new types and applications for cement. 4 PROMOTED BY The Brazilian Association for Portland Cement ABCP is a nonprofit entity that is completing 80 years in 2016, which, since its foundation, in 1036, promotes studies on cement and its applications. Nationally and internationally renowned as reference technological center, with excellence in researches on the product fabrication and application, ABCP also acts for the development of constructions technologies and systems based on cement, keeping a team of qualified professionals available to the technical market, for consultancy and support to large Brazilian engineering works. It was constituted to study, divulge and legally represent the Cement Industry economic category, considered as the integrated activity of exploration and beneficiation of mineral substances and their chemical transformation in clinker and consequent grinding, in the national territory. SNIC represents, before administrative and legal authorities, the general interests of the category and the individual interests of its associates. Among its chief actions are the collaboration with the State, as technical and consultancy agency, in the study and solution of problems related to the cement industry and legal and technical assistance services to its associates in economic, tax, environment, accident prevention and occupational safety issues.
