4 Importance of this subject In Biblical usage names frequently described the person or object named reveal His nature. In our purpose to know God better the study of His Names depicts some of His Divine Attributes and Nature The Name of God is a metonymy which represents the entire person of God and this is the reason for the third commandment, which forbids to take God s Name in vain (Exodus 20:7; Deuteronomy 5:11).
