Digital Subscriber Line (DSL): Technology that transmit data over traditional copper telephone lines. Broadband Coverage data are provided by the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) participating in the New Mexico Broadband Program (NMBBP). The NMBBP considers broadband as a two-way data transmission to and from the Internet with advertised speeds of at least 768 kbps downstream and 200 kbps upstream to the end users. The data represented on these maps are for informational purposes only. Fiber: Fiber optic based broadband network that transmits higher speeds than other technology type. Fixed Wireless: Wireless broadband service to a specific location using spectrum that is licensed to the ISP or shared among ISPs. Other Copper Wire-line: Technologies that use phone lines to transmit data. (i.e. T-1 and ISDN lines) Mobile Wireless: Wireless broadband service using spectrum dedicated to an ISP and targeted for mobile use by customers.
