4 MCELROY Note Notes: The details shown on the following pages are suggestions or guidelines on how to install Max-Rib / MESA wall and roof panels on a post frame structure. The details shown are not intended to cover all applications, building requirements, designs or codes and changes may be required due to individual project conditions. It is the responsibility of the designer/installer to ensure that the details meet particular building conditions and/or code requirements. McElroy Metal will be held harmless from any and all claims arising as a result of using these suggested details. Before beginning installation of the panels, the installer should examine all supporting members to ensure they are straight, level, and plumb. The panels should be installed plumb, straight, and accurately to the adjacent work. Tape sealant and closures are required on roofs and are optional on walls. Sealant shall be field applied on dry, clean surfaces. All flashings, closures, and accessories shown on the installation drawings can be provided by McElroy Metal unless noted otherwise. Flashing and trim shall be installed true, and in proper alignment, with any exposed fasteners equally spaced for the best appearance. Some field cutting and fitting of panels and flashings is to be expected by the installer and minor field corrections are a part of normal installation work. Workmanship shall be of the best industry standards and installation shall be performed by experienced metal craftsmen. Oil canning of metal panels is inherent in the product and is not cause for rejection. Cutting of panels and driving of fasteners may create metal shavings. These metal shaving must be swept or removed from the panel surface. Failure to due so will cause rust stains on the panel surface and will void any warranty. On the job site, material should be kept dry and above ground. Material should be tarped or protected from weather conditions by other means. Allow for proper air circulation to prevent moisture build-up under tarp. Elevate one side of bundles to allow for moisture run-off. If panels become wet, all panels should be removed from bundles and individually dried.
