1 TABLE TENNIS Rules & Regulations The tournament will be played according to the rules laid by TTFI & BFI. Non-Marking shoes for Badminton is compulsory. No player will be allowed to play without Non-Marking shoes. Total of 3 tournaments will be played in Badminton & Table Tennis each 1. Men s team event (League and Knock-out basis) 2. Women s team event (League and Knock-out basis) and 3. Men over 40 year s event- ONLY IN TABLE TENNIS (Knock-out basis). Men s: A Squad of 4 players for men, since a player can t participate in both singles and double. Women s: A squad of minimum 2 players & maximum 4 players since a player can participate in both singles and double. Teams are requested to submit a squad of 4 players for men i.e. 2 each for singles & doubles since a player can either play one single match or doubles match. For women s team event, teams are required to send a squad of minimum 2 players & maximum 4 players since a player can participate in both singles and double. In addition teams are requested to submit the name of a men player who should be over 40 years of age for Men over 40 year s event. The Badminton event will be played with feather shuttlecocks. Definition of team event: Badminton: A match will constitute of 2 singles game and one doubles game for 11 points in the league & knock stage for Badminton Tournament. Order of play will be - first singles - doubles - second singles. A men s player who has participated in singles match cannot play doubles match & vice versa. Second singles will not be played if the team wins its first two matches. Each Single and doubles will be a best of 3 games for 11 points during league matches. Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals & Finals will be a best of 3 games for 15 points will be played. League Matches & Pre Quarter Final 11 points of best of 3 set. Quarter Final, Semi Final & Final 15 points best of 3 sets Table Tennis: A match will constitute of 2 singles game and one doubles game for 11 points in the league stage for Table Tennis Tournament. Order of play will be - first singles - doubles - second singles. A men s player who has participated in singles match cannot play doubles match & vice versa. Second singles will not be played if a team wins its first two matches. Reverse singles will start from the Quarter Final stage with best of 3 games while best of 5 games would be played in the Final. Players will be allowed to play with permitted rubber as per ITTF. 2 Definition of a match for Men over 40 years event: - A match will constitute of a best of 3 games for 15 points in Table Tennis All the matches will be officiated by eminent referees form Table Tennis Federation of India and Badminton Federation of India. In case a team reports later than 15 minutes from the scheduled time, walkover will be given to the other team. At least one players of a respective team should be on the court for the match to start. The Tournament Committee will decide any match not covered by the above rules or laid by the TTFI or BFI and that decision will be final and binding on all teams.
