2 Pr o d u ct I n f o r m at io n Our GSM Mobile Alarm is a standalone sm all portable unit which can be deployed in your Room s, Workshops, Sheds, Boat s, Caravans, and endless other places where you need to safeguard the security of you, your fam ily and belongings. Our units are m ade in the UK but, with quadband GSM frequency the units can be used all over the world, there is no installation or program m ing required, you sim ply place a 2g sim card into the unit plug it in (power supply and antenna are included) and it is ready to be used. The alarm has a built in program which m onitors the sim card and keeps it alive so you never have to worry about the sim card and unit being deact ivat ed. The unit has an internal PI R sensor which works m ost effectively over 5 Metres/ 16 Feet. When the sensor is triggered it will use the internal GSM technology to send you a text m essage or phone call straight to your m obile phone or landline so you know straight away if there is a problem you should be aware about! Once you have received an alert m essage or call you can then dial into your unit and access the unit's m icrophone to listen in to what is happening and then reactivate the unit or leave it in standby m ode. 3 NSTRUCTION You m ust disable any voicem ail that is set on the sim card using the codes - Vodaphone: call 1210 Orange: call 450 Tesco call 2915 T- Mobile: call : call 1760 Giff Gaff: call 1626 EE - send the text message command VM OFF to 150 NOTES Please note as PI R Sensors react to heat be sure to place the unit away from radiatiors / boilers and sim ilar heat sources, the units can also be triggered by direct sunlight so also be sure to place them in a suit able place. 4 Ho w t o set u p y o u r Mo b ile alar m 1: First you will need to rem ove the four fixing screws holding the back cover plat e. 2: Place the sim card into the sim card Holder, please look at the picture above and follow the instructions. Note please m ake sure that you have turned off voice m ail on your sim card ref t o page 3 3: Now we need to set the Dipswitch 1 & 2. Dip sw it ch 1. This is for the Alarm sensitivity if you turn t he switch on this will increase the sensitivity, this m ay detect sm all anim als so we recom m end that you leave Dipswitch one in the off position. Dip sw it ch 2. You can select to receive a text call or phone call when the alarm has been activated. I f you turn Dipswitch 2 ON you will receive a text m essage saying alarm act ivat ed. I f you t urn Dipswit ch 2 OFF you will receive a phone call, you do not need to answer this call as it will autom atically hang up after it has m ade six ring tones, this will prevent any call charges being m ade to your sim card. 4: Refit the back cover using the four corner screws. 5: Place the alarm in a suitable place. I t is im portant to place the m obile alarm away from direct sunlight or close to radiator as this m ay cause false alarm s. 6: Connect the power supply to the power input socket. 7: Connect the antenna to the screw term inal placing the antenna as high as possible. 5 Ho w t o p r o g r am t h e Mo b ile Alar m 1: Turn on the power to the m obile alarm you will see the red standby light com e on, after a short period of tim e approxim ately 20 to 50 seconds the red light will start to flash and you will hear two beep sounds this tells you that the unit has found a m obile signal and is ready for program m ing. 2: The m obile alarm now needs to be program m ed with up to two num bers, these num bers will be used to contact you if your alarm is activated. We do this by sending a text to the sim card num ber follow the exam ple below. (Hash) (Star) (num ber) (star) # 1 * * Now send to the sim card num ber # 2 * * Now send to the sim card num ber You can only text one at a tim e I f you wish to cancel a num ber send a text as follows. # 1 * * or if is for num ber 2 then # 2 * * You are now ready to activate the alarm. Yo u can act iv at e t h e u n it t w o w ay s 1) Press the set/ clear button, once pressed the blue alarm on light start to flash for 45 seconds, this is to give you tim e to leave the area before the alarm becom es set. 2) You can also activate by sending a text m essage # ON this has the sam e effect as pressing the set/ clear button. After 45 seconds you will hear the unit beep and that is confirm ation it is now alarm ed. Any m ovem ents in the room from now on will trigger the alarm and send out text/ phone alerts. Page 5

6 W alk T est ( g r een lig h t ) The green walk test light will illum inate when the sensor detects m ovem ent, so you can test the sensitivity before you set the alarm. W h at t o d o w h en alar m is act iv at ed ( r eset ) When the alarm has been triggered it will send you a call or text and then return to standby m ode. To reset the alarm use the sam e m ethod as activating the alarm either by the set/ clear button or by texting # ON Micr o p h o n e To listen in to the surrounding area of the m obile alarm you can dial in by calling the units sim card num ber, this will go straight through to the m icrophone and you will hear any activity that is occuring, this is useful to identify false alarm s. Sw it ch Of f To switch off the alarm press the set/ clear button when it is in alarm m ode or send a text # OFF. Sig n al St r en g t h To help m ake sure that you place the unit in a suitable position You can text the unit to see how m uch signal strength you have by texting # SS, this will indicate the signal strength, you will receive a text telling you if it s GOOD,A VERAGE, POOR. We st r o n g ly recom m end that you place the unit where you can get at least average signal strength You will find t hat with a poor signal it will be u n r eliab l e an d is n o t su it ab le. T ex t Ack n o w led g em en t s You get text acknowledgem ents every tim e the alarm is switched on or off, these will say Alarm On or Alarm Off. I t m ay take a tim e to send or receive a text acknowledgem ent this depends upon how busy your telephone network is at the tim e. Page 6
