Regular -ER verbs: Drop the ER, then add your endings Je Nous Tu Vous Il/Elle/On Ils/Elles

Étudiez! Étudiez! Study! Study! Study! Futur Proche : These things happen in the near future. They are translated as things you are GOING to do. Ex. Je vais manger seize gâteaux. I m GOING to eat sixteen cakes. All verbs: To conjugate the Futur Proche: 1. Conjugate your form of the verb Aller. 2. Add an infinitive. *To make a negative sentence put the ne... pas -OR- ne... jamais around the conjugated verb!
7 Passé Composé: These things happen in the past. They are translated as things you did. Ex. J ai fini mes devoirs. I finished my homework. Regular ER verbs : 1. Create your past participle (-ed form of verb) by dropping the er and making it é. 2. Decide if the verb goes with Être or Avoir. 3. Conjugate your helping verb (Être or Avoir). 4. Add your past participle. a. If the verb goes with Être, make sure to add the appropriate agreement. Regular IR verbs: 1. Create your past participle by dropping the IR and making it i. 2. Repeat steps for conjugating ER verbs. Irregular verbs: 1. Recall the irregular past participles. 2. Repeat the steps for conjugating ER verbs. Irregular Past participles: Avoir- Être- Aller- Devenir - Faire- Prendre- Lire- Vouloir- Pouvoir- Voir-
8 Adjectives- Most adjectives go after the noun that they describe. Ex. Il est grand. Make sure to make the adjective agree with the noun they describe. For most adjectives: Masculine- Leave it alone! Grand (Gâteau) Feminine- Add an e Grande Masculine plural- Add an s Grands *Unless it ends with u, then add an x (Gâteaux) Feminine plural- Add an es Grandes *If the adjective already ends with an e, it stays the same in both the masculine and feminine singular. Contractions- De + definite article (Partitive) À + definite article Masc. Singular de + le = à + le = Fem. Singular de + la = à + la = Vowel de + l = à + l = Plural de + les = à + les = *In the negative du, de la, de l, des become DE/D
