5 Informatica PowerExchange helps you Access data that require specialized interfaces or code including mainframe, legacy systems and Enterprise applications. In conjunction with the Informatica platforms you can move the data to and from a variety of systems, write it to a multitude of targets, on whatever timeframe is right for your business. This provides your mainframe connectivity and your CDC capabilities on top of the Informatica Platform

PWX provides some basics capabilities Capture changes to source databases Move raw table data AND legacy data that s not easily accessible Move transactions that has been captured in consistent UOWs to provide up to date information where and when you need it Why do you need PWX? If you don t have all your data, its an incomplete view of your assets Isn t it complicated? Mainframes can be very tricky, that s why we have PowerExchange The PowerExchange architecture

16 What about configuration. The are some basic settings that are in the CLIENT config file (dbmover.cfg) NODE=(MFLST,TCPIP, ,port) NODE=(ORALST,TCPIP, ,port) Listener runs on the platform that hosts the data. There are changes depending on the platform and data source types. Oracle vs VSAM require different settings. The defaults usually provide a good starting point.
