BA, MBA, MA, PhD, PGCHE Associate Professor in Finance Nottingham University Business School, Room AB472 University of Nottingham, University Park 199 Taikang East Road, Ningbo, China Area of Expertise Originally trained as an accountant, Dr Boateng first worked with a firm of Chartered Accountants as Audit Senior before joining Grains Development Project as a head of internal audit. He then studied for DMS, MBA, MA, PhD (University of Leeds) and PGCHE. Prior to joining the University of Nottingham in 2007, Dr Boateng worked as a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Leeds Metropolitan University, UK where he led the research activities of the School of Accounting & Financial Services as a Research Coordinator. Dr. Boateng specialises in the field of finance and global business. His research draws heavily from international business theories to analyse financing strategies and capital structure determinants of multinational firms, mergers and acquisitions and value creation in the UK and China; strategic alliances in developing countries, executive compensation, governance in non-profit organisations in the UK. As a teacher, Dr Boateng has over 10 years experience teaching finance courses at BA, MA, MSc, MBA & EMBA programmes in the UK, and visits Ghana s prestigious Institute of Management & Public Administration (GIMPA). He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy. As a researcher, Dr Boateng has published in a number of refereed journals, successfully supervised a number of Ph.D students to completion and is an ad hoc reviewer for seven leading international academic journals. He also served as an assessor for Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC) and universities in a number of countries. He was a Conference Track Chair for International Academy of African Business & Development ( ). He is a member of the following professional associations: European Finance Association, British Accounting Association, British Academy of Management, and International Academy of African Business & Development.
