2 Introduction Located 60 km north of Amsterdam, the International Sailing Centre (ISC) organized the first Olympic sailing regatta in Medemblik in 1985, and through the years became one of world's best Olympic sailing regattas with over 1,100 participants from more than 50 countries regularly attending. Initially known as the SPA Regatta, the event became the Delta Lloyd Regatta in The venue has all the facilities to host a major sailing championship Professional race committee organizes world championships every year Racing area is directly outside the harbor on Holland s biggest lake, the IJsselmeer The 800 year old city of Medemblik is on a 10 minute walk from the boat park Camping with tents and campers at the boat park Holiday houses available at walking distance.
