Enzyplex (digestive enzyme supplement) ½ teaspoon per 250g of food. Mix into food ½ hr before serving. With every meal for 6 weeks. 3. Omega Blend Oil 1ml per kg bodyweight daily for 3 weeks, then 1ml per 4 kg bodyweight daily for 3 weeks, or until finished. 4. Shark cartilage powder ½ teaspoon per 10kg bodyweight daily for 8 weeks. Maintain this diet STRICTLY for at least 6-8 weeks. No other snacks, treats or supplements, especially no dairy foods. Raw bones are ok, but avoid large marrow bones. Feed one main meal per day, in the morning Do not give up if your pet has a breakdown midway through the 6 weeks, this is not uncommon as they de-toxify. It can be a sign that the body is purging. Book a re-visit at 6 weeks, earlier f you are experiencing problems. When finishing the supplements, make sure you stop then one at a time, and space it out at least 7 days between each one, to assess any negative effects form stopping the supplement. When introducing new ingredients into the diet (after the 6 week period and revisit), ensure that you introduce only one new ingredient at a time, at least 4-5 days apart, to assess the impact of each new addition. There are a range of additional herbs and immune modulators that may be required if you pet does not fully respond to the above protocol, but our long term goal is to use an appropriate long term diet to control the allergy.
