October, when the Congress is held, is one of the best times to visit the city for its pleasantly warm weather. 3 Dear Colleagues, dear friends, It is a pleasure and honour to be the host of the 16 th International Congress of the European Association of Tissue Banks held in the Congress Park Hotel Flamenco from October 17 th to October 20 th, The Congress covers the following topics : the organization of tissue banks, quality management issues, donor evaluation, musculoskeletal tissue preservation, ocular, skin and cardiovascular tissue banking, cell banking and tissue engineering. The sharing of different European and international experiences will offer an opportunity to learn the state of art in tissue banking. Internationally recognised speakers and posters will update you on the various themes. The strong cooperation between tissue banking and industry became essential in the progress of tissue and cell preservation during the last decades. An industrial exhibition in proximity to the plenary session is organised. The latest technologies and services help us to produce safe and efficient grafts for our patients. The commercial partners and their sponsorship enables us to prepare the scientific meeting and exciting social programs as well. Our exhibitors are very welcome to the Congress. Your papers and abstracts will guarantee the high level scientific program of the Congress. This is the most important aim of this forthcoming event. We do also hope, that you will be able to find the opportunity to visit the attractions of the Hungarian capital. The registration fee includes a 3-day free pass for public transportation. Located on the green and hilly Buda side of the Danube but still close to the city centre, only a few minutes away from the business and shopping districts of Budapest. The hotel is easy to reach from the Budapest-Vienna motorway and also from the city by public transportation. Hotel Flamenco has its own garage, where parking will be free of charge for EATB Congress participants. PC projection will be available for oral presentations. Oral presentations should be prepared in MS PowerPoint format (in any version). Both poster and talk contributions require a submission of a maximum of 300-word abstract not including the title, names and affiliations. Submissions of original contributions to the Congress are now accepted on-line only. For on-line submission each participant should use the web-based abstract system operated by the Congress Secretariat available at website. Submissions by or hard copies will not be accepted. Before sending an abstract please read the instructions carefully. Should you have any questions please contact the Congress Secretariat. All correspondence regarding abstracts shall be made by . In your correspondence, please always refer to the abstract number given to you by the abstract system upon registration (A-0000 format). If you do not receive confirmation about abstract submission in 48 hours, please submit it again. 7

Signature is also required for authorization! INVOICING Taxable invoice will be issued on all incoming payments. Invoices will be prepared for the customer name indicated on the registration form. Please note that the Congress Secretariat will not modify the customer name on issued invoices so please take care of the right billing address when you fill in the registration form. Registration fee contains meals. According to the Hungarian tax regulations on the invoice registration fee will be shown separated to registration fee and meal. 10 ACCOMMODATION Accommodation in selected hotels has been reserved for participants and special rates have been negotiated for reservations made through the Congress Secretariat. Requests will be filled in the order received, provided that they are accompanied by the total fee for each stay. You are requested to reserve and pay accommodation until September 17, 2007 Reservations will only be guaranteed till this date and when full payment is arrived. Bookings without payment will be cancelled. For reservation after deadline please contact the Congress Secretariat. Prices include breakfast and all taxes.
