15 Testimonials for logistics in the region The key factor for the decision made by DHL in 2004 to locate its central hub at Airport Leipzig/Halle was the latter s central situation at the heart of Europe but also the potential of highly-motivated labour and perfect road, rail and above all air infrastructures. 18 Conclusion & summary the Leipzig-Halle region has a highly developed motorway network which allows powerful logistics services this forms the basis for logistics services providers with extensive amounts of freight Schnellecke Logistics for BMW and Porsche: cars produced per day (!) DHL Europa Hub: packets per night (1.500 Tons) production and trading companies need a powerfull logistics infrastructure (see quotes) but: a highly-developed infrastructure is not enough intelligent trafficandtransportmanagementare also necessary to create a powerfull basis for effective logistics processes for the production and trading companies 18
