We need to love someone for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta ala we come different backgrounds and interests and we do not want anything from each other - this love is pure. Today people are lacking that. People want something from each other, even just being with them. Pure love will only be for Allah when we hold onto the rope of Allah subhana wa ta ala. If you are loving someone for the Sake of Allah it will not be a temporary relationship. It will be everlasting until Paradise. Imagine the stages on the Day of Judgement. You will have someone with you on your way to paradise. No one will enter Paradise individually; the people will be in zumar, in groups together. Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu alayhi wa sallam was talking about one man who went to visit his friend in another town an angel appeared to him in the form of a man. The angel asked Where are you going. The man replied I am going to visit my friend. The angel said Do you need to take something to him or does he need something from you. The man replied No, I love him so I want to visit him. The angels said I want to inform you that because of your love, Allah subhana wa ta ala loves you. We cannot live without love in our life. You will be happy when you love someone and someone loves you. If you love everyone for the Sake of Allah it is like living in Paradise. 1

2 Today we are meeting and talking about Allah subhana wa ta ala. Are you someone who never feels bored, is never satisfied when we talk about the Creator? We are sharing the knowledge of Allah subhana wa ta ala, this is the Greatest Delight, the knowledge about the Creator. Every Name of Allah will help you to overcome your problem s, the source of all the names is Allah. Love and Magnify Allah subhana wa ta ala Through some of the Names of Allah you feel you really love Allah subhana wa ta ala. You cannot live without some of the Names of Allah. We are weak, poor and helpless, we need someone rich and powerful, Allah subhana wa ta ala. The name As Samad shows us there is someone you can approach for anything in your life. Your Lord is The Self Sufficient Master and everybody will go to Him. We look up to somebody who is having power or ability. The source of all power, the power to talk, the power to walk, express yourself, the ability to do anything is not just because you are eating food, taking vitamins or exercising. I do everything, eat properly, take vitamins, exercise but still I am weak, I am exhausted, I cannot do everything I want to do. Why? You are relying on the means. We need power in life so we rely on Al Qaadir, Al Qadeer, & Al Muqtadeer, the One who has the full power, the ability and the capability, the Irresistible. It will happen and nothing changes what Allah subhana wa ta ala wills, Qadr. Whatever Allah subhana wa ta ala wills it will happen As human beings we plan so many things, but there is no action to so many plans. Maybe you will complete 10% of your plans and the rest something happens. Anybody else does not have the full power, is imperfect. Allah subhana wa ta ala is so capable and able to do everything, even that which you don t know, unlimited. Our ability & capability is limited. 2

3 Al Qaadir, Al Qadeer & Al Muqtadeer has 2 meanings: 1. Allah subhana wa ta ala s Ability, Capability & Power are Perfect Kun fayakūnu "Be," and it is Allah subhana wa ta ala created human beings, Allah subhana wa ta ala created all of creation and He can change the hearts of people. Some people do nothing and they turn to Allah subhana wa ta ala as Allah subhana wa ta ala is able to turn the hearts. We think of the means we should think of Allah subhana wa ta ala s power, He is the only one. When your heart is attached to The Most Powerful, Allah subhana wa ta ala able to do everything. Allah subhana wa ta ala is Capable of Everything Allah able to do everything kun fayakūnu "Be," and it is (2:117). Even things around you that may seem impossible, they happen. Nothing is impossible for Allah subhana wa ta ala. For example a 60 old woman gets pregnant. Some people do change, don t say anything is impossible, say Allah Al Qaadir. When you come across things in life that seem impossible, for example you want to memorise the Qur an, and you feel like this is impossible, you feel weak, who said you can do it? Say Ya Raabi is able to make me do it, how can I JJ.. Take the hasanat from that situation. Say Allah subhana wa ta ala is able to do it. The birth of Prophet Isa alaihi as-salaam was a miracle because he is a Messenger of Allah and Allah subhana wa ta ala is able to do everything. Who is the Father and Mother of Prophet Adam alaihi as-salaam this is not possible without Allah Qudrah. Think of Allah subhana wa ta ala s ability. I will worship a Lord who is capable of everything. But people worship other than Allah subhana wa ta ala, that which is weak. Chapter (22) sūrat l-ḥaj (The Pilgrimage) 22:73 O mankind! A similitude has been coined, so listen to it (carefully): Verily! Those on whom you call besides Allah, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly snatched away a thing from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought. This parable is for those worshipping other than Allah subhana wa ta ala, worshipping something or someone whose power is incomplete. They are not able to create a fly if they all gathered together. They cannot even do a little bit. Everything Allah subhana wa ta ala is able to and able to do it form the ability and capability. 2. At Taqdir The Decree Everything is written. People doubt the decree but everything is preordained. Nothing is a coincidence For example you come to the class and you saw somebody you haven t seen for a long time and will say what a coincidence, incidentally I sawj... When you know the name Al Qaadir 3

4 nothing in life is a coincidence. Imagine in this huge Universe, nothing is coincidence. Especially with something we don t like we say it happened that way. When you know it is Qudrat Allah you will not blame anybody, you will not regret anything, you will be happy and content. Some people are unhappy due to a lack of knowledge about Allah subhana wa ta ala. Al Qaadir is from QudratAllah. Nothing is difficult for Allah subhana wa ta ala. The decree is about Allah subhana wa ta ala s Ability and Capability. It will solve all your problems. The decree has stages. To understand the Decree of Allah, anything which you can t imagine or understand think Allah subhana wa ta ala is able to do everything. You cannot really understand Allah subhana wa ta ala s decree fully, so anything which is difficult to understand about Allah subhana wa ta ala s decree don t be busy thinking about it more and more, tell yourself Allah subhana wa ta ala is able to do that, full stop. Iman Hanibal said Al Qadr, the decree of Allah subhana wa ta ala is Qudrut Allah. The Decree of Allah - 6 th Pillar of Faith Islam has 6 pillars of faith. Believing in: Allah The Messengers The Books The Angles The Day of Judgement The Decree the good and bad. You need the last pillar of faith in your heart to be a believer. I need to place my heart on all 6 pillars of faith. Some people have no problem with the first 5 pillars. But with the decree they deny it or have doubts about it. If one pillar of faith is missing in you heart your faith will collapse. All the pillars of faith are important. The one who denies the Decree of Allah, it is as if there is no faith in the heart. Everything is Qudrat Allah His Ability and Capability When you think I am choosing, doing, planning, you are negating Allah s Decree, you are only a doer this is as if you are denying Qudrat Allah, denying Allah subhana wa ta ala s ability and power. The Decree applies to everything. The Decree is difficult to comprehend because Allah subhana wa ta ala is able to do everything. Allah subhana wa ta ala by His Ability and Power, his Qudrah, He decreed everything before He created it. How many layers of heaven are there, how many stars are there, how many angels are there, what will they do, where will they go? When will the Earth come into existence, how will the Earth look, when it will rain, how many drops of rain will fall, how many grains of sand there will be and Allah subhana wa ta al even counted the quantity of the seas, who will live, who will die etc. Allah subhana wa ta ala decreed everything before He created it. 4

5 Ibn Abbas said: Even when you place your hand under your chin even that Allah subhana wa ta ala decreed. Exactly in this particular time you will do it. When you blink Allah subhana wa ta ala decreed it. If you can t imagine this so tell yourself Allah is able to do that. Allah is doing this for all His Kingdom, Allah is the real King. Allah subhana wa ta ala decreed when you will feel energetic, when you will feel lazy and can t do anything, and the time, the place, the actions the utterances. The name Al Qaadir Al Qadeer will make you magnify Allah subhana wa ta ala, I am weak and incapable and I need Allah subhana wa ta ala. Love and Magnify Allah subhana wa ta ala Our relationship with Allah subhana wa ta ala should be that I love Allah subhana wa ta ala the most, I magnify Allah so that I am attached to Him. You will love and magnify Allah subhana wa ta ala when you know the Names of Allah. With this name you are magnifying Allah subhana wa ta ala, so Great and Powerful. We don t care when we make mistakes because we don t love Allah subhana wa ta ala. In our hearts we must feel Allah subhana wa ta ala s Greatness We have no power over ourselves, so how can we give power to anyone else. Only Allah subhana wa ta ala does that. How is Allah subhana wa ta ala able to decree all this? Allah subhana wa ta ala is able to decree. One of the pillars of faith, the Decree of Allah goes through stages. To understand and grasp the decree of Allah subhana wa ta ala. In our day to day life, we estimate, plan. Taqdir in Arabic means I want to do something in the future, but before I need to plan research and estimate, preliminary planning. For example you want to build a chocolate factory. There is so much work to do before you can do it. 1 - You need knowledge, which chocolate, how many types of chocolate etc. The more your knowledge is accurate and the greater your experience the more likely you are to be 5

6 successful but this is still estimation. But your plans will be more accurate and more likely to work out as planned due to your knowledge and experience. 2 - You need to record your plans, they may change it is still estimation. 3 Executing your plan this will be done in stages. Firstly you need a will. You need a nasihah, a desire to do it. We do not do so many plans as we loose interest, or the situation changes. The intention and desire is the will do it. So many projects are estimated but the person does not have the will to do it. 4 the means You need labour, land, money equipment. The more resources you have the quicker the project is completed. In our daily life we have projects and don t complete them due to lack of will or resources. This is about Taqdir. Some people in the early stages of planning, they record it, they have the resources and everything. Then during execution their plans change. Look at any project and look at the outcome it is never the same as originally planned. Why? Because we are imperfect. Some plans are more accurate than others because of their planning. But still the outcome will not be exactly the same or the outcome will be similar. What about Allah subhana wa ta ala s decree and planning? PERFECT. For example a class of students have a new teacher the teacher does not know the students. After teaching for 60 years she will be very experienced in knowing her students. Just by looking at them she will know who is good, who is honest etc. Before the students do an exam she will predict what grade each student will get when the results come they will be very similar to what she said. She is having the experience which we easily accept. When you talk about Allah subhana wa ta ala, so many people are having problem accepting this. Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr: Allah s Messenger ṣallallāhu alayhi wa sallam went out and he had in his hand two books. He said: Do you know what these two books are? We said: Allah s Messenger, we do not know but only that you inform us. Thereupon he said: This one which my right hand possesses is a Book from the Lord of the worlds. It contains the names of the inmates of Paradise and the names of their forefathers and those of their tribes. It is most exhaustive and nothing will be added to it nor did anything eliminate from it up to eternity. He then said: This one in my left hand is a book from the Lord of the worlds. It contains the names of the denizens of Hell and the names of their forefathers and their tribes. It is also exhaustive to the end and nothing will be added to it nor will anything be eliminated from it. These books are Kitab Rabbil Alameen. Nothing will increase in them nothing will decrease in them. Our names are written in one of these books where will you be? But I haven t finished my exam how come my name is written in the book? - this is Qudrat Allah.
