Calibration procedure 7 The DM Series is a range of highly portable, battery operated, thermo-hygrometers. Available with a number of different probe configurations and with display of relative humidity, absolute humidity and temperature, the DM Series is suitable for a wide range of applications. 3 4. Calibration Calibration: Each unit is calibrated against our working factory standard which is traceable to NMi in The Netherlands or National Physical Laboratory, UK. DM-509-(M/T/S)X-(01/02) & DM-509-(H3/H5)-(01/02) 5. Dimensions Calibration certificates: In addition to the normal calibration procedure, each transmitter can be supplied with its own traceable calibration certificate. Calibration interval time: Under normal ambient conditions (0..50 ºC, %RH) and for accuracy of ± 2 %RH, we recommend an annual calibration. For an accuracy ± 5 %RH we recommend calibration every five years. For environments with airborne chemicals or for high humidity and high temperature conditions we recommend more frequent calibration EMC compatibility: The series DM-509 Humidity and Temperature hand meters and DM-535 Digital Hand held meters are designed to meet the following European standards: EN (1997) + A1 (1998) + A2 (2001) EN (1995) + A1 (1998) + A2 (1998) & EN (1995) Emission: Class B, Immunity: Industrial Limited Warranty: All products manufactured by Rense Instruments B.V. are warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship for one year after delivery. If re-adjustment is necessary: Model DM-509-MX-01/02 Remove 4 screws on back of the instrument gently to open housing. Refer to figure 2 for the location of potentiometers. Model DM-509-TX-03/04 Remove screw of the probe housing and gently pull out the PC-board. Use calibration tubes, so that you can reach the potentiometers. Refer to figure 1 for the location of potentiometers. Model DM-509-SX(H3/H5)-(01/02) Remove 2 screws of the probe housing. Refer to figure 3 for the location of the potentiometers. Once the first low value is reached and the reading of the DM-509-reference has stabilised, adjust the DM-509-test with zero potmeter. After the second high value is reached and stabilised, adjust with span pot meter. As an alternative to the S-503 humidity generator, reference bottles can be used. However this method is less accurate and can take up to two hours per point to stabilise. Rense Instruments is producing these reference bottles too. Auto-shut off The DM-509 is equipped with an auto shut-off switch. To modify to manual onoff operating remove jumper J5 on the PC board inside the instrument. 6 10. Calibration procedure The S-503 humidity generator in combination with the DM-509-TX-01 handheld reference meter is ideal for quick and accurate calibration. The DM-535 is special designed for use with the probe PC-520-XX-TC. The PC-520-XX-TC is equipped with a RS-232 port. The probe sends continuous ASCII coded data. The probe can also be connected to the RS-232 input from a PC. The 9 Volt battery supplies the power for the DM-535/ PC-520-XX-TC. In one glance the LC display indicates the rel. humidity and temperature and the two derived values, see photo display.
