1 ASANSÖR İSTANBUL 2015 POST-SHOW REPORT The 14 th edition of the ASANSÖR Istanbul International Lift Exhibition brought together hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors from across the world. Taking place from March at the Tuyap Exhibition Centre in Istanbul, Asansor 2015 welcomed the active support of AYSAD (Turkish Lift and Escalator Industrialists Association). The latest innovative products and services of 434 exhibitors and representatives from 28 countries were on display. During 4 hectic days of business discussions 28,278 professional visitors from 88 countries attended making this a truly global event with 6,082 of those visitors coming from abroad. The opening speeches of the exhibition were made by Managing Director of IFO Fuarcılık Zekeriya Aytemur, President of AYSAD Sefa Targıt, Founding Member of AYSAD Erol Erbirer who's career spans 60 years in the sector, President of ELA (European Lift Association) Philippe Lamalle and Turkish Deputy Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Prof. Dr. Davut Kavranoğlu. ASANSÖR İstanbul 2015 sets many new records: The Exhibition was situated in an indoor area of sqm. 434 Exhibitors displayed their products and services on 365 stands. There were national pavilions from China, Italy and Germany. 230 exhibitors from Turkey set up stands. 135 foreign companies from 27 countries attended the exhibition with their own stands while 69 companies were present in the exhibition through their representatives in Turkey. The exhibition was visited by 28,278 sector professionals during 4 days. The exhibition attracted visitors from 77 cities across Turkey. 6,082 international visitors participated in the exhibition from 87 countries other than Turkey. 27% of visitors spent more than one day in the exhibition. Asansor Istanbul is now recognised as one of the top two most important trade exhibitions for the lift/elevator sector. The bar of success for sector companies at the exhibition has been further increased. In addition to the exhibition, AYSAD organised a series of conferences which attracted high number of professional participants so ensuring the event served as

2 a comprehensive forum for the exchange of information. ELA Chairman of Statistics Committee Ebru Gemici-Loukas shared Lift and Escalator Statistics while Paolo Tattoli from CEN TC10/WG1 explained about Standards and Risk Analysis. ELA Component Committee Chairman Wolfgang Adldinger and CEN TC10 Chairman Esfandiar Gharibaan made presentations about New EN81-20&50 in the sessions were moderated by Selçuk Dikmen from AYSAD. The panel moderated by President of AYSAD Sefa Targıt were, ELA Member of Board of Directors Ercüment Hızal, Gebze Mayor Adnan Köşker and former Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Nihat Ergün. The panel focused on key issues such as competition, branding, opportunities, and relations between the public and industrialists. The surveys conducted to our exhibitors demonstrated the success of the exhibition. 81% of the exhibitors rated the exhibition as good or very good, 88% indicated that they had a very effective exhibition and 68% of the exhibitors have already reserved their stands for the ASANSÖR İstanbul 2017.

3 According to the surveys conducted with our visitors, 18% indicated that they made a purchasing decision during the exhibition and 16% of the visitors indicated that they held new supplier negotiations for alternative products. 89% of the visitors rated the exhibition as very good or good and declared that the exhibition had fulfilled their expectations. When considering the professional visitors by their business activities, their was an increase in the number of visitors particularly from Lift Installers and service companies, an indicator of positive trends in the domestic market. The increase in the number of foreign Lift Components suppliers highlited the fact that ASANSÖR İstanbul Exhibition is an important export channel. Thus, ASANSÖR İstanbul 2015 is

4 not only an exhibition to put products on display in an effective trading environment but also an event that offers profit opportunities and opens new export channels for its exhibitors. As a result of special publicity activity, we attracted significant number of visitors from Contracting and Construction companies. The basic purpose of this activity was to ensure awareness amongst the construction sector that lifts and escalators are one of the most important facets of buildings and a key factor that adds value to buildings. The highest number of international visitors came from the Middle East, the Balkans and CIS countries. There was an increase of 15% in the number of visitors from Western and Central Europe and so presented opportunities to those suppliers who found We can also get a market share from the European market.

5 The top 10 countries that sent the highest of number of visitors to ASANSÖR İstanbul 2015 were Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Greece, Egypt, Iraq, India, Russia, Italy and Lebanon respectively. There was also a sharp increase in the number of Indian visitors as compared to the previous edition of the exhibition. The ratio of visitors from cities other than Istanbul was 38% in 2013 and increased to 44% in The highest increase in this ratio was from the Eastern and Southeastern regions of Turkey. Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Konya, Antalya, İzmir, Kocaeli, Tekirdağ, Kayseri and Samsun were the top 10 cities respectively and with ASANSÖR Istanbul 2015 playing host to visitors from 77 cities. Continuous publicity activities managed from the last day of ASANSÖR İstanbul 2013 to the final day of ASANSÖR İstanbul 2015 are a key reason behind the event's success. We maintained a high intensity publicity campaign by using all existing channels around the world. During these publicity activities, we used regular s, SMS reminders sent to previous visitors of the exhibition, advertisements on billboards located at high traffic zones across Istanbul City and one-on-one phone conversations with the visitors of previous years. Also, we used domestic and foreign sector magazines, national newspapers, TV news channels, national radio stations, google adwords and social media. Through press conferences held as part of the PR campaign in addition to advertising activities, ASANSÖR Istanbul 2015 was broadly covered in local and domestic media. During the exhibition, national news channels broadcasted news about ASANSÖR Istanbul 2015 on their main news programs.

6 The target for ASANSÖR İstanbul 2017 is to be recognised as The Most Important Lift/Elevator Trade Event in the World by attracting a higher number of exhibitors and visitors from around the world!
