2 About CryptoGuard Words from Customers From ideas to a global company CryptoGuard was formed in At that time we couldn t expect how our Conditional Access System (CAS) should grow seven years later, it has really been an exciting journey! CryptoGuard was developed in Luleå, in the northern part of Sweden. As a result of this placing several operators in this region chose CryptoGuard as their CAS. Due to the analogue switch-off in Sweden the timing for CryptoGuard s introduction was perfect. The cable operators had to get an encryption solution of their own in their networks and CryptoGuard proved to have the right pricing and features. A few years later we had more than 50 networks throughout Sweden and we started to look abroad to see the interest in the CryptoGuard CAS. We quickly got several operators in Spain, then followed by more countries; Iceland, Pakistan, India, Poland, Azerbaijan, South Africa and Madagascar to name a few. At an early stage CryptoGuard also became used by IPTV networks and has today several customers on IPTV platforms. To manage installation, support, and further development of the system we acquired a software development company based in Motala, Prowill AB. The staff had many years of experience in SMS systems and became a valuable resource for CryptoGuard s growth. 3 Solutions Modules CAS and SMS CryptoGuard is a complete package including high security Conditional Access System (CAS) and Subscriber Management System (SMS) for DVB-C, DVB-S, DVB-T and DVB-IPTV. You can encrypt multiple signals separately or simultaneously. The SMS allows you to handle subscribers, smart cards, ordering, customer care, billing etc. The CAS and SMS can be used together or separately. This means that you can have one CAS connected to one or more SMS but also the other way around. You can also easily connect a third party software to the CAS server, such as a business management system (ERP) or a different SMS. IPTV CryptoGuard works on standard DVB-IPTV and can be integrated with different IPTV middleware software platforms with VoD and Over-The-Top (OTT) services. It supplies software technology for IP- or Hybrid-networks to deliver an efficient and elegant user experience to subscribers in a multiscreen environment. CryptoGuard is also used in Android based operations both as OTT and linear TV. CryptoLite Pre-paid CryptoLite is offering a solution where the encryption server is built into the supported headend and the smartcards are prepaid. There are no servers and no customer management, simply add the channels that you want to encrypt to the service in the headend and you are done. Hosted solution CryptoGuard CAS, SMS and IP are well suited for hosted solutions. The CAS and SMS can be separated physically, and you can connect an SMS with multiple CAS (in physical sub networks). You can also connect a number of SMS with one CAS (distributed hosted solution). You can rent a hosted CryptoGuard service from one of our hosting partners or you can set up a hosted solution yourself and then rent out to others. Card-less solution CryptoGuard is also available as a card-less solution with the security built into secure chipsets placed in the STB or CAM module. The card-less system can be used on any device and can be applied on DVB streams, IP streams and on hybrid solutions. PSI / SI Inserter PSI / SI inserter describes to the recipients how the network is constituted. CryptoGuard CAS can hereby configure channel lists, frequency tables and the program guide. Data is generated to recipients as NIT, SDT, SDT other, TDT, TOT and EIT tables. API The CryptoGuard SMS is based on a MySQL database and Linux. The architecture is open and there are a full set of APIs available for integration with 3rd party systems, such as business applications, billing, CRM, data-mining etc. EPG The CryptoGuard EPG server is divided in two parts, one server that is installed with the CAS and SMS and one central database that collects and distributes the EPG information to EPG customers. End user Login Module Makes it possible for your end user to login and view their own profile, order new subscriptions and PPV as well as viewing their invoice history. Economy module Used to export invoice rows from Crypto- Guard s SMS system to your own billing system. A customized solution can be made according to your requirements. Fingerprinting ECM - Card number or/and IRD number can be displayed on the screen, on chosen services, to be able to track recorded copyrighted material. Force Tuning Module With this module it is possible to force the STB to tune to a specific service at a specific time. OTA This module makes it possible to upgrade the software of your STB s and CA modules Over-The- Air. Subserver When your network extends over a larger geographic area with different frequency tables or if you have several head ends, it can be necessary to separate components from the main server. An example is an additional PSI/SI server. ECM Redundancy Additional ECM servers can be installed working redundant to each other, meaning if scrambler loses contact with main ECM server, it automatically connects to the spare server and vice versa. Messaging You are able to send long messages, up to 2048 characters, to a STB. It is possible to schedule when they are sent, choose to which service, force their appearance and set the duration of the message. Reports Possibility to view current and historical statistics of activations, subscriptions, customers, channels and other parts of the system. It is also simple to ad custom made reports. Reseller module A custom designed page for resellers to add new customers, cards and subscriptions and also for printing signable customer contracts.
