Over 89% of survey respondents felt students worked harder to improve their grades, including 91.% of students. Three-fourths of survey respondents thought students were more enthusiastic about school. Approximately 78% of survey respondents felt students set new or higher educational goals, including 94.7% of parents. Approximately 69% of survey respondents indicated that they had a better idea about what college cost. 4 CHAFFEY COLLEGE Online to Chaffey College Program 9- Survey Results In the academic school year, Chaffey College partnered with the Ontario-Montclair School District and the Montclair Community Collaborative on a project entitled Online to Chaffey College. Fifth grade students enrolled at Kingsley, Lehigh, and Monte Vista Elementary Schools participated in a number of activities designed to provide the support, information, and experiences students and their families need to set appropriate goals for the future and understand that college is a viable and desirable option. Consistent with the holistic and dynamic nature of the project, parents and guardians of fifth grade students, and elementary school faculty and staff also participated in outreach services. As part of ongoing program evaluation, Online to Chaffey College Program surveys are disseminated annually to students, parents/guardians, and teachers. At the onset of the Program, surveys specific to each constituency were drafted by the Chaffey College Office of Institutional Research. As feedback was acquired from Montclair Community Collaborative, Ontario-Montclair School District, City of Montclair, and Chaffey College representatives, survey forms were modified and eventually finalized. Recognizing the English language limitations that exist among students and parents/guardians involved in the project, the Online to Chaffey College Program Coordinator provided support in translating student and parent surveys into Spanish. The Chaffey College Office of Institutional Research created scannable forms for all three surveys, including Spanish language versions of the student and parent/guardian surveys (see Appendix A). The following table identifies the approximate number of student, parent/ guardian, and teacher surveys that were disseminated by elementary school in 9-, the number of valid surveys returned by each elementary school, and the survey response rate by elementary school. 1

In the first section, data tables provide a respondent profile and identify the types of Online to Chaffey College activities that constituencies participated in by elementary school. In the second section, the responses to questions that were posed to all constituencies are compared. In the third section, the responses to questions that were posed exclusively to specific constituencies are presented. In the fourth section, responses of students and parents/guardians were examined to determine whether statistically significant differences existed by elementary school or survey language version. Finally, in the fifth section student responses from the past seven years were examined to identify any changes in student perception of the Online to Chaffey College Program. 2
