3 SITE VISIT DETAILS Background to Piteå Chemrec s BioDME Plant Welcome to Piteå, the forestry capital of Europe, as we see it. With paper mills and saw mills and development of biorefineries. The city, with people, is also a well known tourist attraction with the sea resort Pite havsbad as the biggest attraction. Half of the population live in villages around the city centre. Piteå is also appointed Sustainable City by the Swedish Energy Agency. Piteå Site Visit Schedule Registration at Conference Hotel in Stockholm Depart Conference Hotel for Stockholm Airport Arrival at Stockholm Airport to Check-in Flight Departure from Stockholm Airport (Subject to Change) Arrival at Luleå Airport Coach Transfer from Luleå Airport to Piteå Welcome to Piteå, Peter Roslund, Mayor of Piteå From Wood to Wheel a Concept for the Future Robert Bergman, CEO, IS Pite The BioDME Plant, Ingvar Landälv, CTO, Chemrec Coffee Research: Swedish Gasification Centre and Energy Technology Centre Prof. Rikard Gebart and Phd Magnus Marklund Presentations of Cluster Companies Buffet Lunch (Catering) Site Visit Presentation of SunPine and Evolution Diesel Lennart Westberg, MD (interim), SunPine Transportation to SunPine Site Visit Depart Piteå for Luleå Airport Arrival at Luleå Airport to Check-in Flight Departure from Luleå Airport (Subject to Change) Arrival at Stockholm Airport Coach Transfer from Stockholm Airport to Conference Hotel First stop at Piteå will be at Chemrec, who want to help pulp and paper mills dramatically increase their cash flow and profitability by enabling them to become Biorefineries. Application of the unique, proprietary black liquor gasification technology opens up new markets for mills, producing sustainable, low-carbon chemicals and fuels. SunPine s CTO Plant The next stop is SunPine, who have pioneered a "Wood to Wheel" renewable diesel process technology using crude tall oil, a residual product of the pulp and paper industry, as feedstock. The main product of the process is the SunPine crude tall diesel. A final refinery process step including hydrogenation treatment converts the SunPine crude tall diesel to a first class renewable diesel fuel with a very low carbon footprint and excellent well to wheel efficiency. The major by product is the SunPine Bio oil, a high quality tall oil pitch. It can be processed further to recover valuable chemicals including rosin and phytosterols. Please register your attendance for the site visits when booking for the conference.
