It is centrally located in the eastern part of Norway, with easy approach and modern facilities. The port handles all types of cargo and vessels, and offers 24/7 service. The port has an annual throughput of close to two million tonnes. Our most important activities are container handling, ferry, stone exports and general cargo. 4 The container port Big, effective and modern Close to TEUs are shipped through the Port of Larvik each year, making it Norway s second largest container port. The container terminal has weekly services to Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Esbjerg, Immingham and Gothenburg. The Port of Larvik has marked itself as a solid, modern and preferred port facility on the west coast of the Oslofjord. The port is going through an expansive period, and when the last development have been completed the port has a capacity to handle TEUs on square meters terminal area. Larvik Container Terminal AS is responsible for the operation of the container terminal. 5 Ferry Color Line Color Line established itself at Revet in 2008 to run the ferry line between Larvik and Hirtshals, deploying the new ferry Superspeed, which represents new transport solutions when it comes to size, speed and comfort. The line is a resounding success for Color Line. The terminal is among Europes most modern and effective and has a total terminal area approaching 60 acres. 6 Facilities at Kanalkaia Quaysides: Kanalkaia Nord, length 360 metre and depth 10 metres, Kanalkaia Vest 120 metres and 10 metres. Buildings: Covered storage space of 2,070 square metres Cranes: Gantry cranes with 23 tonnes and 50 tonnes lifting capacities Area: 29 acres Rocks and general cargo Facilities at general cargo terminal Quayside: Stykkgodskaia length 90 metres and depth 8 metres Buildings: Terminal building of 1,500 square metres and storage area Area: Total area 5,5 acres Facilities at Svartebukt Two piers and six acres of port area Larvikitt, which is quarried several places in the District of Larvik, is used for façade cladding, furniture as well as monuments both domestically and abroad. The rock is exported as raw material. Further treatment and processing is mainly done in Italy and in the Far East. Blocks of stones are exported in containers at Revet and in bulk at Kanalkaia. The by-product, Storstein also called waste rock is exported in barges for use in erosion control and the construction of breakwater and other uses. Annual stone export is approaching 1 million tonnes. Kanalkaia The terminal at Kanalkaia is the oldest in the port and is used for a variety of bulk commodities and general cargo, not least the export of stone blocks. The terminal is also used to handle raw material for Felleskjøpet (grain and cereals), offshore installations, wood, iron and steel. New general cargo terminal In 2008 Nor Lines moved into a new and modern terminal at Kanalen. Nor Lines operates a liner service along the Norwegian coast, Scandinavia and the Baltics. The Svartebukt terminal About 500,000 tonnes rock and stone products are annually exported at the Svartebuk terminal at Brunlanes, which is operated by Norsk Stein AS. 6

7 The Revstien footpath A long the terminal there is a public footpath called Revstien, leading through a magnificent green area of square meters, offering a spectacular view of the Larvik fjord. The visitors can also have an exciting view of the operations of the Port of Larvik. The footpath is made of concrete and illuminated, and follows the River Lågen ending up in a nice picnic area. The summer town of Stavern is especially popular. Its marina has close to 900 fixed berth and accommodate another 150 guests boats with all facilities. But the whole district offers a diversity of activities and experiences. The Port of Larvik has on offer fixed berths for annual hire and guest berths on a day-to-day basis. Most of the council owned marinas are run by local boat associations on behalf of the Port of Larvik. 7
