An exclusive raw gas contract with Stockholm City for production levels up to 8.6 MNm3. Currently expanding to double production before 2020 Sofielund Biogas (Stockholm, Sweden) Green field biogas plant under construction for producing 8 MNm3 vehicle fuel from household food waste Biogas Varberg (Sweden) Co-digestion of sludge, orange peelings, paper and pulp residues and glycerol.

9 Sofielund Biogas Basic facts 9 SBF partner SRV Återvinning is a company owned by the five municipalities in Stockholm SRV has built a new food waste treatment plant at the Sofielund landfill in Huddinge municipality. Scandinavian Biogas is building a biogas plant for production of vehicle fuel The biogas facility is designed for production of 8,1 MNm 3 bio methane from food waste

10 Varberg Biogas (Sweden). 10 Scandinavian Biogas will, together with Varberg Municipality, increase biogas production in Varberg 15 times: Renovation and retrofit of 4 digesters Addition of external substrates orange peelings, wood pulp residues and glycerol Balanced process with high loading rates (7 kg VS/m 3 & day)

13 Project description Ascophyllum nodosum Laminaria digitata Alaria esculenta Aim: Development of technical and logistical guidelines for biogas production from algae addressing topics of harvesting, washing, storage and processing. Benefit: To support the implementation of macroalgae cultivation facilities for biogas fuels production in Europe. The understanding of the key challenges on macro-algae digestion will help companies on develop and design efficient integrated AD plants.
