It is assumed that the value of walnut wood from the trees will more than compensate for the cost of removal, including any sidewalk repair that may be needed. Quotes will be evaluated based upon the largest return to the City of Chico. Quote a total net price for removing NINE (9) Black Walnut trees at various locations in Chico. Scope of Work and additional requirements are attached as Exhibit A. Insurance requirements are attached as Exhibit B. TERMS OF QUOTATION ATTENTION VENDOR: The following terms shall apply to all quotations submitted: a. The right is reserved to reject any or all quotations or to accept separate items in a quotation unless this latter right is denied by the vendor by written notice on or attached to this quotation. b. The right is reserved to waive any irregularities in the quotation. c. In case of default, the City may procure its supplies from other sources and hold the vendor named in this quotation liable for resulting increased cost. d. The award of quotation, if made, will be made to the lowest and best responsible vendor within 90 days after opening of the quotations. e. Payment will be made within 35 days after completion and receipt of invoice. f. Samples, if requested, shall be furnished at vendor s expense and retained as a standard, will be returned on the same terms upon request. g. All quotations shall be FOB destination as indicated in 5. Items, if purchased, to be delivered to: above. h. The City is required to pay the California use tax on goods purchased from an out-of-state vendor if the vendor does not pay California sales tax. Vendor must include this tax in the bid total. The use tax shall be calculated based on the sales tax rate applicable in the City of Chico at the time the bid is prepared. 8. 5 3. Next to 47 River Wood Loop in maintenance district lawn area. Tree had all dead tops removed 2 years ago and continues to show signs of decline over the bike path. Rev-Exhibit C - Photos and locations.doc Page 3 of 6

6 4. Walnut located at 128 W 1st Ave in the alley behind the property. This tree has large dead tops and extensive decay at the base. It also leans over a paved area that is used by the kids for church activities. 5. Walnut located at 482 E 5th Ave next to an alley. 7 6. Walnut at 1515 Boucher St has decay at the base of the roots and leans out over the sidewalk. 7. This walnut at 1906 C St in the F:1 position has extensive die back and is a main route to Chapman School. Rev-Exhibit C - Photos and locations.doc Page 5 of 6
