INTERREG aims at strengthening cooperation among regions INTERREG projects always have partners from at least two participating countries INTERREG projects are to have a clear cross-border added-value The Central Baltic Programme continues to promote cross-border cooperation started by the Central Baltic INTERREG IV A Programme

6 How to read the programme priorities? Competitive economy (29 meur) More entrepreneurial youth This objective aims to use the potential of the young generation to make the Central Baltic region more entrepreneurial and competitive in coming years. Young generation is defined as people under 18 years old and involved in basic and upper secondary education. Joint Central Baltic activities will be based on good experience supporting youth entrepreneurship and attracting young people to engage into crossborder and international activities within all programme regions. Joint activities aim to motivate young people to establish student companies and create international teams, which can serve as a basis for future business partnerships within the Central Baltic region. Student company (mini company) is defined as a team formed for business simulation under adult supervision. It is not a legal entity according to business law. It is understood that all participating teams will not become or stay joint by the end of the project activities. The experience from international cooperation acquired is nevertheless seen as a great benefit for young people.

Competitive economy (29 meur) More entrepreneurial youth Indicative list of actions supported Awareness raising Training, coaching, internships Advisory services Networking of teams of pupils/students, experienced entrepreneurs, investors Capacity building of teams and pupil/student firms Designing and creating of e-platforms and e-tools The main target groups The target group is students involved in basic and upper secondary education. Specific territories targeted The whole Central Baltic region is targeted whereas different areas (e.g. urban, rural, isolated islands, archipelagos) may need different approaches. Types of beneficiaries Targeted beneficiaries are business development organisations, youth organisations, youth entrepreneurship development organisations, education institutions, national, regional and local authorities. 9 CB CB Differences between the previous and the new Central Baltic Programme: Thematically more focused Broadened partner eligibility (public organizations, NGOs and private partners partner relevance important) emonitoring system -> electronic application and reporting procedures Small projects (simplified application procedure, limited max duration and budget) Simplifications in project implementation, for instance: Reporting only twice a year Advance payments to be considered Simplified cost options
