6 Pharmacy Job Titles Pharmacy Director Responsible for overall budgeting, performance, quality, and strategic planning for the department s cost centers. Manager Leads the quality improvement, medication safety, clinical drug utilization, related regulatory compliance, and pharmaceutical care (clinical) services. Operations Manager Leads the daily inpatient operational functions, related regulatory compliance, and staff development. Outpatient Infusion (& Research) Supervisor Oversees the day-to-day operations in the infusion center as well as research activities. Employee Pharmacy Supervisor Oversees the day-to-day operations to provide prescription benefits to the organization s employees. Anticoagulation Clinic Supervisor Oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinic (education, finger-stick lab, and dosing adjustments for warfarin patients).

7 Job Titles (continued) Pharmacy Coordinator Oversees the inpatient clinical pharmacy consulting/dosing service and medication use processes (e.g. order sets, quality improvement, drug utilization studies) Medication Safety Pharmacist Reviews medication errors and collaborates with other disciplines to develop actions to improve medication safety. Pharmacy Supervisor Supervises/trains the pharmacy technicians to provide timely and accurate medications to patients. Pharmacist Ensures accurate dispensing, safe and appropriate use of medication, and medication quality/pharmaceutical care via rounding on units Pharmacist Accountable for dosing medications safely and effectively through a 24/7 consultative service & Critical Care rounding. Provides education, drug information, and various committee representation Pharmacy Supports the pharmacists daily dispensing & drug delivery responsibilities, repackages medications, and prepares most IV doses.
