Workers: Manufacturing of secondary alkane-(c14-17)-sulfonate, sodium salt takes place continuously under strictly controlled conditions in closed system. The assessment for all relevant process categories identified for this exposure scenario revealed that all activities related to inhalation and/or dermal exposure are controlled to exposure levels which represent no concern. Additional margin of safety is provided due to recommended and/or mandatory risk management measures. ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS Environment Safety Assessment The environmental risk characterisation ratio for production, formulation, industrial and consumer use is well below 1 for the tonnage used in the EU. Based on the assessment, safe uses for all environmental scenarios have been identified. The environmental risk characterisation ratio for production, formulation, industrial and consumer use is well below 1 for the tonnage used in the EU. Based on the assessment, safe uses for all environmental scenarios have been identified. RISK MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS Appropriate risk management measures (RMMs) are in use for manufacturing and downstream use of secondary-alkane sulfonates-sodium salts (SAS).
