TCE.M4-999 TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LIMITED DEFINITION OF TERMS AND VARIOUS SECTIONS OF ENQUIRY DOCUMENT Page 5 of 138 SECTION: A SHEET 1 OF SCOPE This specification covers Definitions of Terms used and Description of various Sections in the Enquiry Document. 2.0 DEFINITIONS OF TERMS 2.1 The PURCHASER shall mean the client on whose behalf the CONSULTANT prepares and/or issues the ENQUIRY DOCUMENT. The PURCHASER shall include his successors and assigns, as well as his authorised officers and representatives. Term OWNER used in some documents shall also mean the PURCHASER. 2.2 The CONSULTANT shall mean TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LIMITED or their duly authorised representatives, who are the CONSULTANTS, appointed by the PURCHASER for the PROJECT. Term ENGINEER used in some documents shall also mean the CONSULTANT. 2.3 The BIDDER shall mean the company, firm or party who bids or quotes against the ENQUIRY DOCUMENT. 2.4 The VENDOR or the CONTRACTOR shall mean the successful BIDDER whose BID the PURCHASER has accepted and on whom a PURCHASE ORDER or a WORK ORDER has been issued by the PURCHASER. The VENDOR and the CONTRACTOR shall include their successors and assigns, as well as his authorised officers and representatives. Instead of a WORK ORDER being issued, the PURCHASER and the successful BIDDER may alternatively sign a CONTRACT. Normally, the term VENDOR is used for Supply of an Item and the term CONTRACTOR is used where only the site work is involved or site work is also included in the Scope of Services in addition to Supply of an Item. However, the terms the VENDOR and the CONTRACTOR may be interchangeably used in some documents. 2.5 The SUB-VENDOR and the SUB-CONTRACTOR shall mean the company, firm or party, named in the PURCHASE ORDER or the WORK ORDER or the CONTRACT, undertaking a part of the supply and/or site work, on whom a part of the PURCHASE ORDER or the WORK ORDER or the CONTRACT has been sublet, with the written consent, of the PURCHASER. The SUB-VENDOR and the SUB-CONTRACTOR shall include their successors and assigns, as well as his authorised officers and representatives. 2.6 The MANUFACTURER shall mean the company, firm or party who is the actual fabricator or the producer of an item and supplies the item directly to the PURCHASER or through the VENDOR or the CONTRACTOR. 2.7 The OTHERS shall mean the other successful BIDDERS whose BIDS the PURCHASER has accepted and on whom PURCHASE ORDERS or WORK ORDERS have been issued by the PURCHASER or the CONTRACTS have been signed between the PURCHASER and such OTHER BIDDERS. 2.8 The INSPECTOR shall mean the authorised representative appointed by the R12 FILE NAME: M4999R12.DOC TCE FORM NO. 329 R5

TCE.M4-999 TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LIMITED DEFINITION OF TERMS AND VARIOUS SECTIONS OF ENQUIRY DOCUMENT Page 6 of 138 SECTION: A SHEET 2 OF 8 PURCHASER or the CONSULTANT for the purpose of inspection of materials, equipment or site works. 2.9 The PROJECT shall mean the project specified in the Project Information- General, Section-B of the ENQUIRY DOCUMENT The SITE shall mean the actual place of the PROJECT where the PLANT or the EQUIPMENT or the material ordered needs to be supplied and/or where the WORK has to be executed under the CONTRACT The ENQUIRY DOCUMENT shall mean collectively the Covering Letter, or the Invitation to Bid or the Notice Inviting Tender and various Sections viz. A, B, C, D, E and F as applicable. An ENQUIRY DOCUMENT may not necessarily contain all the sections. The Contents Sheet indicates the sections included in an ENQUIRY DOCUMENT and also lists various specification modules contained therein The BID shall mean the proposal or the quotation that the BIDDER submits to the PURCHASER and/or the CONSULTANT in response to the ENQUIRY DOCUMENT The PLANT or the EQUIPMENT or the WORK shall mean the goods to be supplied or the services to be provided by the VENDOR/SUB-VENDORS or the CONTRACTOR/SUB-CONTRACTORS under the PURCHASE ORDER or the WORK ORDER or the CONTRACT The PURCHASE ORDER or the WORK ORDER or the CONTRACT shall mean the document issued by the PURCHASER or jointly signed by the PURCHASER and the CONTRACTOR, authorising the VENDOR or the CONTRACTOR to supply the PLANT or the EQUIPMENT or execute the WORK as indicated in the PURCHASE ORDER or the WORK ORDER or the CONTRACT The ORDER VALUE or the CONTRACT PRICE shall mean, the amount of compensation payable by the PURCHASER to the VENDOR or the CONTRACTOR for supply of the PLANT or the EQUIPMENT or execute the WORK as indicated in the PURCHASE ORDER or the WORK ORDER or the CONTRACT The DATE OF CONTRACT shall mean the calendar date on which the PURCHASER and the CONTRACTOR have signed the CONTRACT. EFFECTIVE DATE OF CONTRACT may be different from the DATE OF CONTRACT and shall be as mutually agreed to between the PURCHASER and the CONTRACTOR The DELIVERY PERIOD or the CONTRACT PERIOD shall mean the period indicated in the PURCHASE ORDER or the WORK ORDER or the CONTRACT by which the ordered PLANT or the EQUIPMENT needs to be delivered or the WORK needs to be completed by the VENDOR or the CONTRACTOR The MONTH shall mean a calendar month. TCE.M4-999 TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LIMITED DEFINITION OF TERMS AND VARIOUS SECTIONS OF ENQUIRY DOCUMENT Page 7 of 138 SECTION: A SHEET 3 OF The GUARANTEE/DEFECTS LIABILITY PERIOD or simply the GUARANTEE PERIOD shall mean the period during which the PLANT or the EQUIPMENT supplied by the VENDOR or the WORK executed by the CONTRACTOR shall give the performance guaranteed by the VENDOR or the CONTRACTOR in the Schedule of Guarantees submitted as part of the BID and subsequently made part of the PURCHASE ORDER or the WORK ORDER or the CONTRACT The words APPROVED or APPROVAL used in the ENQUIRY DOCUMENT shall mean, APPROVED BY or APPROVAL BY the PURCHASER or the CONSULTANT. When the words Approved, Approval, Subject to Approval, Satisfactory, Equal To, Proper, Requested, As Directed, Where Directed, 'When Directed, Determined by, Accepted, Permitted or words and phrases of similar meaning are used, the approval, judgement and direction etc., are understood to be a function of the PURCHASER or the CONSULTANT The PURCHASER's INSTRUCTIONS shall mean any drawings and/or instructions, oral and/or in writing, details, direction and explanations issued by the PURCHASER or the CONSULTANT from time to time during the CONTRACT PERIOD The WRITING shall include any manuscript, typewritten or printed statement, under or over signature and/or seal as the case may be The NOTICE IN WRITING or the WRITTEN NOTICE shall mean a notice in written, typed or printed characters sent or delivered personally or otherwise proved to have been received by registered post or courier service to the last known private or business address or registered office of the addressee and shall be deemed to have been received when in the ordinary course of post it would have been delivered The VENDOR s WORKS or the CONTRACTOR's WORKS or the MANUFACTURER's WORKS shall mean and include the land and other places which are used by the VENDOR or the CONTRACTOR or their SUB-VENDORS or SUB-CONTRACTORS for the manufacture of the PLANT or the EQUIPMENT or executing the WORK The VIRTUAL COMPLETION shall mean that all work is completed as directed and the SITE is cleared to the satisfaction of the PURCHASER/ CONSULTANT The MECHANICAL COMPLETION shall mean a state or readiness for PRELIMINARY OPERATION after due erection of all the PLANT and the EQUIPMENT covered under the scope of the CONTRACT The COMMISSIONING shall mean integrated activity covered under PRELIMINARY OPERATION, INITIAL OPERATION and TRIAL OPERATION and carrying out PERFORMANCE TESTS The PRELIMINARY OPERATION shall mean all activities undertaken as part of commissioning after MECHANICAL COMPLETION up to commencement of INITIAL OPERATION and shall include mechanical and electrical checkouts, calibration of instrument and protection devices, commissioning of sub and R12 FILE NAME: M4999R12.DOC TCE FORM NO. 329 R5

TCE.M4-999 TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LIMITED DEFINITION OF TERMS AND VARIOUS SECTIONS OF ENQUIRY DOCUMENT Page 8 of 138 SECTION: A SHEET 4 OF 8 supporting systems and chemical cleaning of the plant, system and equipment covered under the CONTRACT The INITIAL OPERATION shall mean all operations undertaken as part of the COMMISSIONING after completion of PRELIMINARY OPERATION and upto commencement of TRIAL OPERATION. It shall be the first integral operation of the complete plant, system or equipment covered under the CONTRACT and shall include first light-up, initial equipment rolling, equipment stretch-out, dryout and operational chemical cleaning, no load, partial load, full load runs for mechanical and electrical try-out and gathering of operational data, calibration, setting and commissioning of control systems, and shutdown inspection and adjustment of the plant, system and equipment covered under the CONTRACT The TRIAL OPERATION shall mean the integrated operation of the plant, system and equipment covered under the CONTRACT for a specified period at specified load for proving trouble-free operation of the plant, system and equipment covered under the CONTRACT The PERFORMANCE TESTS shall mean such tests as are prescribed in the ENQUIRY DOCUMENT to be carried out by the VENDOR/CONTRACTOR/ MANUFACTURER before the PLANT and the EQUIPMENT is taken over by the PURCHASER The COMMERCIAL USE shall mean use of the PLANT and the EQUIPMENT, which the CONTRACT contemplates or that for which the PLANT and the EQUIPMENT is commercially capable The MINOR MODIFICATION as applied to the CONTRACTS other than civil works, shall mean the modification work required to be carried out on the PLANT and EQUIPMENT, which needs a maximum of 48 man-hours per item of work. In the case of civil works, it shall be work, which need a maximum of 8 man-hours per item of work The MAJOR MODIFICATION as applied to the CONTRACTS other than civil works, shall mean the modification work required to be carried out on the PLANT and EQUIPMENT, which needs more than 48 man-hours per item of work. In the case of civil works, it shall be work, which need more than 8 manhours per item of work Words meaning Persons shall include Firms, Companies Corporations and other Bodies whether incorporated or not Words meaning the Singular shall also include the Plural and vice-versa where the context requires. 3.0 ENQUIRY DOCUMENT 3.1 The Enquiry Document shall mean collectively the Covering Letter, or the Invitation to Bid or the Notice Inviting Tender and various Sections viz. A, B, C, D, E and F as applicable. An Enquiry Document may not necessarily contain R12 FILE NAME: M4999R12.DOC TCE FORM NO. 329 R5

The Contents Sheet indicates the sections included in an Enquiry Document and also lists various specification modules contained therein. All these sections need to be considered together for correct understanding and interpretation of the Enquiry Document. 3.2 SECTION-A For equipment supply and/or erection contracts, Section-A covers the scope of the Enquiry Document and Applicability of Codes and Standards. It also includes this very specification module which gives Definition of Terms and Various Sections of the Enquiry Document For civil works section-a covers the scope of the Enquiry Document and Instructions to Bidders. It also includes this very specification module which gives Definition of Terms and Various Sections of the Enquiry Document. 3.3 SECTION-B Section-B is a project-specific section and includes relevant Project Information. 3.4 SECTION-C Section-C is an Enquiry Document-specific section For equipment supply and/or system supply and erection contracts or purely site works contracts it covers the following, if not covered in Section-D. (a) Brief description of the equipment or system to be supplied or the type of site work involved (b) System performance, design, layout, erection, operation and maintenance requirements (c) Specific manufacturing process (d) Applicable Codes and Standards (e) Shop and site Inspection, performance tests and guarantee requirements (f) (g) (h) (i) (j) Quantity variation and contract price variation Bid evaluation criteria, like cost loading for power and consumables etc. and penalty criteria Scope of supply and description of battery limits Provision of site facilities by the PURCHASER and chargeability of these Approved makes, brands and sub-vendors for critical items R12 FILE NAME: M4999R12.DOC TCE FORM NO. 329 R5

Data sheet A includes the data specified by the PURCHASER/CONSULTANT. Data sheet B specifies the data to be furnished by the BIDDER alongwith the BID. Such contradictions need to be resolved by the Purchaser/Consultant before the Bid Due Date It is the intent of the Purchaser to incorporate the Enquiry Document as part of the Purchase Order or the Work Order or the Contract. TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LIMITED SECTION: A1 TCE.6758A-B SCOPE & INSTRUCTION TO BIDDERS SHEET 1 OF SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers the general requirements for design, preparation of detailed drawings, supply of material, manufacture, testing, inspection at Contractor s works, packing, forwarding, transportation, transit insurance, delivery at site, erection / installation, testing, commissioning at site and carrying out performance / acceptance tests of the equipment, materials and services as per enclosed data sheets and other documents. 1.2 It is not the intent to specify completely herein all details of design and construction of equipment or materials to be supplied or of services to be rendered. However, the equipment, materials and services shall conform in all respects to high standards of engineering design, workmanship and be capable of performing in continuous commercial operation in a manner acceptable to Purchaser who will interpret the meaning of drawings and specifications and shall have the power to reject any work or material which in his judgement are not in full accordance therewith. 2.0 DEVIATIONS BIDDER shall quote in strict accordance with the requirements of this Invitation to Bid. BIDDERs are advised to avoid making technical and commercial deviations. BIDDERs shall note that unless any and all deviations they may wish to make from the enclosed specifications, specific technical requirements and other terms and conditions, are listed in the Schedule of Deviations in Section-F of the bid document, it shall be deemed that the bids are in strict accordance with the requirements of this enquiry. Bids which do not include a categorical statement of compliance with the enquiry specifications and other terms and conditions of contract, and which do not list all deviations in the schedule as called for and offers not duly signed by authorized person of the company will be liable for rejection. 3.0 PURCHASER S RIGHT Where more than one item is covered by this enquiry, PURCHASER reserves the right to place orders for the various items with different BIDDERs. The PURCHASER does not bind himself to accept the lowest or any Bid and reserves the right to accept or reject any Bid or a portion thereof without assigning any reason thereof or to split the contract during progress of the work due to unsatisfactory work or progress of any one CONTRACTOR. 4.0 GENERAL 4.1 The PURCHASER will not defray any expenses whatsoever incurred by the BIDDER for the preparation and submission and opening of bids. 4.2 Should a BIDDER find discrepancies in, or omissions from the specification or other documents or should be in doubt as to their meaning except prices he would at once request in writing to the CONSULTANT for interpretation/ clarification. The CONSULTANT shall then issue R0

Copies of such addenda, if issued, shall be signed by the BIDDER and shall form a part of his bid. After receipt of such interpretations and clarifications, the BIDDER shall submit his bid within the specified time. 5.0 BIDDER S PROPOSAL 5.1 To enable thorough and fast scrutiny of the BIDDER s proposal, BIDDER s are advised to respond all their technical data in the enquiry by clearly marking out their response, wherever they want to provide additional data and / or they deviate from the specified requirements. In case of full compliance, the enquiry specification and data sheets will remain unaltered. 5.2 The BIDDER is advised to furnish all information called for in summary of data to be furnished along with the bid & after acceptance of Purchase order. 5.3 BIDDER shall carefully study all sections of this specification, drawings and indicate all deviations in the schedule of deviations only. It will be presumed that the offer conforms in all other respects to the specification and the PURCHASER reserves the right to evaluate the bid, as such without any further reference to the BIDDER. It is binding on the BIDDER to supply the equipment and system in conformity with the specification except for the deviations stated in the schedule of deviations and accepted by the PURCHASER. 5.4 BIDDER could provide additional data on their proposal by compiling the same under schedule F without altering the specification structure. 5.5 BIDDER is advised to quote for the complete scope and partial response will not be entertained. However the equipment shall conform in all respect to high standards of engineering, design and workmanship and be capable of performing in continuous commercial operation upto the Vendor s guarantee in a manner acceptable to the PURCHASER, who will interpret the meaning of drawings, specifications and shall be entitled to reject any work or material which in his judgement is not in full accordance therewith. 1.3 All instruments used for testing shall have valid calibration certificates, traceable to national/international standards of repute. Tray covers shall be 1.5 mm thick. Type & size of cable trays shall be as Schedule of Price. The cable laying shall be as follows: (a) In outdoor areas the cables trays shall be routed on Cable tray racks. (b) The cables for shorter lengths shall be routed in 50 mm/ 100 mm cable trays. (c) In process area, cabling shall be generally in overhead cable trays, supported from structural steel members/ RCC slab. (d) Air tubing for valves shall also be routed in the same cable trays EARTHING The earthing system shall have two separate ground i.e safety ground & system/signal ground. The safety shall be taken separately through insulated unarmoured Cu earthing conductor and connected to earthing inserts on each floor and inside the control room. The signal/system earth busbar from the local panels/ DCS cabinets/marshalling cabinets shall be connected to the nearest earthing insert mounted of PVC insulator in a junction box. This signal/system earth bus bar and the safety earthing inserts will further be connected to instrument earth pit & electrical earth pit respectively. Both the instrumentationearth pit and electrical earth pits shall be interconnected. Provision shall be made to disconnect any one earth pit with other earth earth pit remaining connected to grid. The earthing cable shall be 1100 V FRLS PVC insulated green colour stranded CU cable with antirodent properties for insulation. Supply & laying of the earthing cables from local control panel, junction boxes and field instruments to earthing inserts and nearest earth bus bar strip & from the earth strips to earth pit shall be in the scope of contractor. Splitting of the order for individual sub-systems / package systems mentioned in the tender. Calculating the extra price / price reduction on account of any variation. The increase/decrease in quantities quoted up to 10 % shall have no cost implication to the Purchaser. Variation above 10 % will be paid as per the rates agreed in the Schedule of Price. 4.3 The prices for new items shall be negotiable. 4.4 The CONTRACTOR shall possess valid Contractor s license of appropriate class from the concerned statutory authorities governing the area of work place. The CONTRACTOR shall comply with the relevant statutory rules and regulations. 4.5 On starting / intermediate stage / completion of installation work, as required by statutory authorities, the Contractor shall arrange for inspection and obtain approval from the concerned statutory authorities. TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LIMITED SECTION : C1 TCE.6758A-C SCOPE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENTATION SHEET OF All site test reports in a specified format maintained by the CONTRACTOR, duly approved by the CONSULTANT / PURCHASER shall be handed over to the PURCHASER/CONSULTANT after completion of job, as per Vendor Distribution Schedule enclosed. 4.7 All the catalogues / Test Certificates shall be handed over to the Purchaser/Consultant. 4.8 The general instructions/notes should be taken care of during quoting for the erection contract. 4.9 All welding electrodes shall be arranged by the successful bidder as per the requirement of the job and shall be subject to the approval of PURCHASER/CONSULTANT site representative Job will be subject to stage wise inspection and approval of PURCHASER/CONSULTANT site representative Contractors will be responsible for providing all safety equipment such as safety shoes, hand gloves, goggles, helmets, safety belts etc. for their workmen Cranes and other lifting equipment shall be in the scope of the CONTRACTOR. However subject to availability, PURCHASER may provide cranes on a chargeable basis. The non-availability of cranes and other lifting equipment shall not form a basis for time extension or compensation in any form Instruments/items to be erected may be provided at any place inside the plant premises. Contractors will have to make their own arrangement for transporting the same to the site On completion of the job CONTRACTOR shall do all touch up jobs CONTRACTOR shall ensure the safety of the adjoining property and shall make good if any loss to product/property has resulted due to his negligence Bidder shall arrange for adequate number of competent supervisors to be present at site at all times during the progress of the jobs, who shall be duly authorised to take instructions and executed them on his behalf House keeping shall be done on a daily basis. Proper stacking of the various materials shall be done giving due consideration to the safety of the personnel and equipment. Bidder s failure to do the same shall result in awarding the job to other agencies, who shall do the job at CONTRACTOR s cost. R0 TCE FORM 329 R3

In case of shortfall in actual progress, which shall be specifically brought out by CONTRACTOR, the CONTRACTOR shall indicate reasons attributable to it and certify that the equipment installation is being accelerated in order to meet with the Completion Dates. TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LIMITED SECTION : C2 TCE.6758A-C INSTRUMENT INSTALLATION SHEET OF SCOPE 1.1 This specification defines the basic installation requirements for instrument installation scope of work. 2.0 REGULATIONS The instrument installation scope of work covered by this specification shall be conform to the requirements of the latest edition of the following codes, standards and specifications, wherever indicated and applicable unless indicated otherwise. Where a conflict between the codes, etc., might exist, the most stringent requirements shall govern. 2.1 CODES AND STANDARDS API RP 551 Process measurement instrumentation. IEC 757 Code for designation of colours (1982). IEC 79 IEC 364 IEC 529 IEC 446 IEC 391 Electrical apparatus for explosive gas atmospheres. Electrical installations of buildings. Degrees of protection provided by enclosures. Identification of conductors by colours or numerals. Marking of insulated conductors. 3.0 GENERAL 3.1 This instrument installation specification provides the basis for the execution of the instrument installation and which is a part of the instrument installation scope of construction work. Project requirements which differ from this specification shall be submitted as exceptions with requisitions and subcontracts. 4.0 GENERAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 4.1 The contractor shall ensure that all equipment is mounted in his correct location, piped and wired correctly in accordance with drawings and specifications prior to pre-commissioning. 4.2 The contractor shall ensure that all seller s instructions applicable to instrument handling and installations are complied with. 4.3 The contractor shall ensure that control panels and consoles are adequately protected against damage during installation. TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LIMITED SECTION : C2 TCE.6758A-C INSTRUMENT INSTALLATION SHEET OF The contractor shall ensure that following labels are attached to relevant equipment after testing : (a) (b) Red labels for loop testing complete. Yellow labels for hydraulic or equal test. 4.5 Junction boxes shall be mounted in the vertical plane, and protected during construction against the ingress of moisture; unused entry holes are to be blanked off. All cable and wiring connections shall be clearly marked with the correct designation as shown on drawings and specifications. 4.6 The type, design and methods of manufacture of racks, brackets and other special supporting steelwork shall be subject to the approval of the PURCHASER/TCE. 4.7 The number and size of brackets, racks, cleats, clips or other support equipment or cables in position without imposing strain on the equipment or cables and the finished installation shall present a neat appearance. 4.8 The drilling, cutting and/or welding to steel work or building structures shall not be carried out without prior approval of the PURCHASER. Drilling, cutting and/or welding to pressure vessels or pipe work are not permitted under any circumstances. 4.9 Where the contractor is require to cut away and repair the building, the materials used for repairing shall be the same as the original materials and the standard of workmanship at least equal to the original standard The contractor shall provide personnel who will be conversant with the types of instrumentation to be installed Instruments shall be located as shown on the instruments location plans, however, final location and orientation of instruments shall take into consideration the question of accessibility for service and maintenance and readability from walkways, platforms, ladders, grade, etc Prior to placement of instruments, particularly those of delicate nature, consideration must be given to the amount and type of other activities taking place in the area e.g. erection of vessels, steel work, piping, scaffolding etc. Coordination among other agencies must be maintained so as to avoid having instruments damaged and broken. Insofar as practical, installed instruments shall be suitably protected against damage. Weather protection shall also be provided where required. R0 TCE FORM 329 R3

TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LIMITED SECTION : C2 TCE.6758A-C INSTRUMENT INSTALLATION SHEET OF INSTRUMENT MECHANICAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 5.1 INSTRUMENT MOUNTING All instruments and instrument accessories (e.g. seal pots, condensing chambers, sample coolers, etc.), junction boxes, instrument air distribution stations, instrument enclosures, etc., shall be adequately supported Where not mounted on piping, field instruments shall preferably be mounted on independent pipe stands or attached by brackets to suitable steel work or masonry. Local instruments except those close coupled to the process connection, and those mounted on lines, vessels, equipment, and control valves, shall be mounted with centreline at approximately 1500 mm (1800 mm maximum) above the platform or floor in a position accessible for operation and maintenance All instruments which require calibration of frequent periodic maintenance shall be accessible : (a) (b) Either from grade or from a permanent finished floor of a building with maximum inside height of 4 ½ m, so that an instrument can be reached by using a portable ladder of 4 m high. TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LIMITED SECTION : C2 TCE.6758A-C INSTRUMENT INSTALLATION SHEET OF INSTRUMENT PROCESS PIPING AND TUBING Instrument hook-ups shall be in accordance with drawings provided and shall be prefabricated insofar as practical and possible Instrument piping shall be installed using the minimum number of fittings, so that the removal of the instrument for maintenance is possible All pressure leads and pneumatic lines to and from instruments are to be thoroughly cleaned of burrs, internal slivers and foreign matter before being put into operation Where a pipe rack is not provided, pneumatic lines and/or cables (generally three (3) or less) may be strapped to sub-air headers Air supply piping and cable ladders shown on piping and structural drawings respectively shall be supported by existing steel work; sub air header piping and cable racks (branches) shall be supported by materials delivered by the contractor Process lead lines, tubes, etc., shall be fixed throughout their length by means of approved saddles, clips and/or cleats. For lengths up to 1 m the instrument pressure piping is self-supporting, for longer lengths the instrument piping shall be supported at approximately 1 m intervals and be protected against damage Process lead lines and tubes passing through floors or other positions where they are liable to mechanical damage, shall be protected When instrument piping supports are clamped on structures of a different material, insulating barriers, e.g. tape or gasket material shall be applied to prevent electrolytic corrosion When instrument piping supports have to be fixed to fireproofed plant structures, these support should be applied welded to the steel structure before the fireproofing is applied, otherwise the supports should be fixed by means of clamps around the fireproofing, if allowed by civil engineering Screwed instrument connections shall not be seal welded Instrument process piping shall be routed and sloped to avoid any pockets or traps, otherwise, drip pots shall be installed at low points Analyser sampling systems shall be installed as required by the analyser supplier.
