2 Clearstream a trusted global name Clearstream is a global leader in post-trade securities services with more than EUR 13 trillion in assets under custody, making us one of the world s largest settlement and custody firms for domestic and international securities. As an international central securities depository (ICSD) headquartered in Luxembourg, Clearstream provides the post-trade infrastructure for the Eurobond market and services for securities from 54 domestic markets worldwide for more than 2,500 financial institutions in more than 110 countries. As a central securities depository (CSD) based in Frankfurt, Clearstream also provides the posttrade infrastructure for the German securities industry, offering access to a growing number of markets in Europe. Clearstream also offers such services for the Luxembourgish market via LuxCSD, a CSD which is jointly owned by Clearstream and the Banque centrale du Luxembourg (BCL). Clearstream has high credit ratings (AA) which testify to its robustness and reliability. An integral part of the Deutsche Börse Group Being part of the Deutsche Börse Group is a major strength. Clearstream s services are divided into the following business streams: Asset Services Clearstream is responsible for the management, safekeeping and administration of securities under custody. Services include income and redemption payments, corporate actions as well as tax and proxy voting. Global Securities Financing Our collateral management, securities lending and borrowing services are gathered under the Global Liquidity Hub. It provides a deep pool of liquidity through links to agent banks, trading platforms, clearing houses and other market infrastructures such as CSDs. Investment Fund Services As a specialised subcustodian, Clearstream standardises fund processing and increases efficiency and safety in the investment fund sector. Our global fund processing platform Vestima provides access to all fund types, from mutual to ETFs and hedge funds. Issuance Our customised services, deep liquidity pool and extensive network of investors under the Global Issuer Hub help issuers reach investors worldwide at the lowest financing cost in almost 100 denomination currencies. Settlement Clearstream s ICSD ensures accurate settlement in international securities and domestic securities traded across borders. The CSDs settle domestic transactions in the German and Luxembourgish markets.

ECB-assessed links to all T2S markets add an extra level of safety and enable settlement in T2S in central bank money. By consolidating all domestic assets at our German CSD, the largest T2S participant, customers benefit from unique economies of scale and netting opportunities. Clearstream will also make Eurobonds available on T2S. Customers will be able to access all ICSD and CSD counterparties from both ICSD and CSD accounts. European domestic and international assets can be consolidated into a single pool of liquidity. Customers will be able to seamlessly transfer collateral between CSD (T2S) accounts and ICSD accounts. Clearstream will provide asset servicing through our local agent bank partners, granting access to 54 markets plus the international market. With T2S, customers will benefit from domestic and international settlement in central and commercial bank money as well as enhanced asset servicing and collateral management. 4 Our latest initiatives Issuance Issuers can use Clearstream s Global Issuer Hub as their single primary issuance location for both European and worldwide issuance for T2S and beyond. By choosing Clearstream as their single point of access to T2S markets, issuers can consolidate all their issuances in the Global Issuer Hub at lower costs. The seamless integration of Clearstream s CSD and ICSD will enable issuers to distribute securities to investors worldwide. Settlement and Asset Services Clearstream will offer asset servicing for T2S with partners such as BNP Paribas Securities Services, Intesa Sanpaolo and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria. Settlement in commercial and central bank money on the T2S platform will be performed by Clearstream while the local expertise for asset servicing is provided via our partners. Thanks to numerous link extensions, customers benefit from improved services in the following markets: China: settlement and custody for China A-shares in support of the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect Programme. New offshore RMB cash correspondent bank accounts at Bank of China Frankfurt, ICBC Luxembourg and ICBC Singapore. Americas: an extension of the ICSD settlement day, aiming to cover the entire processing day by Mexico: settlement and custody of corporate debt Taiwan: access to RMB-denominated Formosa bonds. Romania: settlement and custody of municipal bonds. Oman: Rial eligible for settlement. Global Securities Financing The reach of the Global Liquidity Hub has been further extended: Liquidity Hub Connect for local custodians is live for BNP Paribas Securities Services, Citi and Standard Chartered Bank. Deutsche Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation also intend to partner with Clearstream. The Global Liquidity Hub can be used for triparty margin collateral management with a growing number of CCPs, most recently with ICE Clear Europe and Indian Clearing Corporation Ltd. Several central banks, notably Bundesbank and Banca d Italia, have chosen Clearstream s automated securities lending programmes for securities purchased under the Public Sector Purchase Programme. Clearstream will offer harmonised collateral management and securities lending services for customers of the ICSD and its CSDs once Clearstream joins T2S. Customers will be able to pool their assets, including equity, at our CSDs as their gateway to T2S for use in the ICSD s securities lending and collateral management services. For example, it will be possible to conduct triparty repos with commercial and central bank money with CSD assets. Investment Fund Services Clearstream is constantly striving to extend the global reach and the number of investment fund classes available on its fund processing platform Vestima: The acquisition of Citco Global Securities Services (CGSS) hedge fund custody infrastructure for financial institutions in 2014 boosted hedge fund services and enables Clearstream to fast-track automation in the hedge fund industry. - A new link between the Korea Securities Depository s FundNet and Vestima supports cross-border investment fund distribution (direct and indirect). - The new registrar monitoring report helps depository banks carry out due diligence on transfer agents and registrars in compliance with AIFMD. - Clearstream offers CSD and ICSD services for the issuance and settlement of multi-listed exchangetraded funds (ETFs). This reduces the need for complex realignments and enables ETF trading on a greater scale. Clearstream is transforming Vestima into a one-stop shop solution for all investment fund needs from mutual funds to ETFs and alternative funds such as hedge funds. The acquisition of CGSS was a key milestone which generated numerous new customer relationships including wealth managers and global custodians.
