Important Information for Students Who Drop or Withdraw from Courses Under Section of the Texas Education Code, an institution of higher education may not permit a student to drop more than six courses, including any course a transfer student has dropped at another institution of higher education. This statute was enacted by the State of Texas in Spring 2007 and applied to students who enroll in a public institution of higher education as first-time freshman in fall 2007 or later. Any course that a student drops is counted toward the sixcourse limit if (1) the student was able to drop the course without receiving a grade or incurring an academic penalty; (2) the student s transcript indicates or will indicate that the student was enrolled in the course; and (3) the student is not dropping the course in order to withdraw from the institution. Central Texas College reserves the right to adjust or correct course scheduling, including but not limited to, class cancellation, starting and ending times of classes, locations of classes, and semester start and end dates. For updated information check WebAdvisor or the GoArmyEd portal. 4

6 GoArmyEd Registration Instructions Active Duty Army, National Guard and Army Reserve Soldiers who are eligible to use TA should register via the GoArmyEd portal. Because tuition rates vary and are governed by contract and MOU based on your location when you enroll it is essential that you are placed in a course section that corresponds with the correct tuition rate. This publication lists sections by tuition rate. At the time of publication, GoArmyEd course numbers were not available for cross reference. To determine the correct course number, you may: Use our course # search at or Search on the GoArmyEd portal using the section numbers in this publication. To select the correct section, refer to the first letter of the section number and choose based on the descriptions below. If you are unsure which section to use, contact your CTC site representative or online.mentors@ctcd.edu. Section # Description Courses in this schedule are sorted by location within each start date. Check with your instructor about requirements for progressing in the class such as receiving feedback before going to the next assignment. Success in Online Classes Our experience has shown that students who do the following have a significantly higher success rates than students who do not. Log in within the first week of class and read the course syllabus, Develop a study plan for meeting course requirements, and Maintain communications with their instructors This also holds true for students enrolled in self-paced classes. 5
