1 Schoeller Allibert Limited Job Description Job Title. Process Manager Location: Winsford Name Department. Operations Reports to: Operations Director Date of Completion. 04/05/16 Job Purpose. To manage all aspects of the site tool and process setting resource & activity in order to meet business KPI s to drive customer Quality, Cost and Delivery service levels. 1. Dimensions (i) Financial a. Risk management : Management of Health, safety and environment activities to prevent potential claims arising to the business. b. Risk Management : Management of activities in line with the Quality Management System c. Control of labour costs in line with budget and Company policy and procedures. Responsible for a combine shift annual labour budget of 1.2m d. Delivery of production plan in line with OTIF dates to meet monthly and annual sales targets e. Management of the setting labour costs & consumable spend. (ii) Non Financial a. Management of 4 shift 24/7 operation of 20 process setters (& apprentices where appropriate) through 4 shift setter champions. 2. Principle Accountabilities (i) Safety. a. To ensure the management of all activities within regulatory and company policy requirements including invoking company disciplinary procedures as required to address breaches in safety and environmental procedures b. 2 c. Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of shift safety performance & actively plan to improve in conjunction with the Site Safety Officer d. Drive behavioural safety through the promotion of the 30 second Risk Assessment process. To continuously identify & eliminate unsafe working practices & conditions e. Responsible for the management of incident, accident, hazard investigation and reporting in line with Company Policy and procedure f. Responsibility for ensuring that unsafe working practices/near misses/accidents are reported, investigated with a pro-active CA/PA process in place linked in to continuous improvement & enforcing adherence to SOP s g. Responsible for driving maintaining and improving 5S standards across the manufacturing operation (ii) (iii) (iv) Delivery a. Provision of trained setter resource to achieve the agreed toolchange plan b. Completion of the daily tool change plan to relevant KPI s (planned vs achieved) & actual to standard timings c. Contribution of tool performance into the Last-Off Meeting to enable effective tool refurbishment decisions to be made Performance Management a. Responsible for ensuring that all direct reports know the company expectations of them through clear and agreed objectives, structured communications & regular feedback through the company P&DR process b. Responsible for ensuring workplace activities are supported by risk assessments, safe systems of work and standard operating procedures c. Responsible for the generation and updating of training shift based training matrices ensuring that all training programs are aligned to ensure that people are allowed to develop in the job & reach their full potential d. Responsible for ensuring that issues are dealt with in a timely manner wherever practicable on a face to face basis in a blame free environment where respect for the individual is paramount e. Responsible for ensuring that commitments made are followed through and actions completed within the agreed time scale Quality. a. Responsible for the delivery of the required standards of quality by the coordination and enforcement of quality procedures in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS) b. Responsible for the management and control of non-conforming product procedures ensuring that corrective and preventative actions are progressed in line with agreed time frames and to the desired standard d. Responsible for the effective management of internal and external Service Level Agreements (SLA s) ensuring adherence to processes and procedures that facilitate the achievement of SLA targets e. Responsible for the management of data and reports that trigger and justify changes to process, procedure, documents and specifications ensuring the correct Change Control procedures are utilised (v) (vi) Cost Control: a. To maintain department expenditure to budget b. To control the level of any setting consumable spend Maintenance of Work Environment, Machines & Equipment a. Responsible for ensuring all areas within the Mould Shop are maintained to the agreed 5S standard with the 5S principles used to drive continuous improvement b. Responsible for the implementation, delivery and review of Asset Care programmes to deliver improved performance of plant and equipment c. Responsible for ensuring the completion of scheduled audits with regard to the reporting and improvement of 5S and Asset Care programmes 3. Continuous Improvement Accountabilities a. Responsible for the coaching of all setting associated through the use of MBU Shift dashboards/level 1 meetings b. Responsible for ensuring that all setting associated MBU targets, triggers & SLA s are providing the basis for local performance monitoring & continuous improvement c. Responsible for ensuring that shift setting performance problems & SLA, NC s are properly resolved using formal problem solving techniques d. Responsible for the development of an engaging culture that encourages full participation in business performance and ways it can be improved by receiving, and supporting the generation of improvement ideas e. Responsible for coaching and facilitating formal problem solving on issues arising out of the MBU s through the shift and driving the use of problem solving tools and techniques f. 4 (i) Job Skills a. Technical qualification in the injection moulding process, IMT level 3 and knowledge of the tools, tooling, engineering and operational practices. b. Operational knowledge of ERP/MRP2 systems & their integral use within the business. c. Must have the ability to analyse data from various sources to produce performance reports and improvement programmes with financial impact to business linked to plan. d. Must have the ability to read, interpret and deliver a production plan, taking in to account MRP, Inventory costs and Shipping dates. e. Proven supervisory/ production management experience of 5 years or more in Process Based/Engineering/ Automotive sector. (ii) Behavioural Skills Organised and self-disciplined with regards to achieving targets, keeping area organised, timekeeping and attendance Contributes positively towards team objectives Has a positive attitude to change and improvement with ability to make change happen through effective management of their team Good communication skills express themselves clearly and positively using various communication mediums (Verbal, written, presentation) Demonstrates drive to complete tasks and has the ability to work under pressure Flexible and adaptable 4. Supervision a. Responsible for the functional supervision of the setting resource b. Responsible for the coordination of the directly managed setting teams with appropriate liaison with the functional departmental heads c. Management of absence, holidays and performance of all direct reports 5. Assignment of Work and Review a. Self-delegating from interpretation of priorities detailed within the production plan and managing all resource without direct intervention b. Assignment of non-routine work on delegated basis from the Operations Director c. Self-delegated activities to drive improvement projects in accordance with any authorisation procedures and managing all resource required on own initiative d. Improvement projects directly assigned by the Operations Director e.
